Raipur: The construction of National Highway 130-D, connecting the Bastar region with Maharashtra, has gained new momentum. The Chhattisgarh government has completed the tender process for the construction of the 21.5-kilometer stretch from Kutul to Nilangur (Maharashtra border).

The Ministry of Public Works Department has directed the Chief Engineer, National Highway Division, Raipur, to complete the contract process and the terms and conditions with the contractor who has submitted the lowest bid for this road. The lowest tender rate of approximately ₹152 crore has been received for the construction of the 21.5-kilometer road, to be constructed in three sections, which has been approved by the Chhattisgarh government.

It is worth mentioning that Kutul is located in the Abujhmad region of Narayanpur district, and the distance from Kutul to Nilangur on the Maharashtra border is 21.5 kilometers. This is part of National Highway 130-D. This road will be constructed with two-lane paved shoulders.

It is significent that NH-130D is a national highway with a total length of approximately 195 kilometers. It is a spur route of NH-30. It begins in Kondagaon and goes through Narayanpur, Kutul, to Nilangur (Maharashtra border). Further into Maharashtra, it travels through Bingunda, Lehre, Dhodraj, Bhamragad, Hema, and Lakasa to reach Alapalli, where it connects to NH-353D. The development of this route will directly connect the Bastar region to the national highway network, significantly boosting trade, tourism, and security.

An approximately 50-km stretch of National Highway 130-D from Kondagaon to Narayanpur is under construction. The distance from Narayanpur to Kutul is 50 km, and from there, it is 21.5 km to Nilangur on the Maharashtra border. The total length of this national highway is 195 km, of which approximately 122 km, from Kondagaon-Narayanpur to Nilangur via Kutul, lies in Chhattisgarh. The construction of this road will provide direct and robust road connectivity to the Bastar region and facilitate safe and smooth transportation in Naxal-affected areas.

With the support of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, forest clearance and construction permission were obtained for the Abujhmad section of this national highway, paving the way for the construction of this ambitious project. National Highway 130-D is not just a road, but a path to progress for the Bastar region.

Our government has made continuous efforts to expedite this project. This road will directly benefit the people of Bastar. This road will not only connect Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra, but will also play a vital role in the social and economic development of the Bastar region. This project will prove to be a milestone in accelerating the pace of development in Naxal-affected areas.
