The dignity of our farmers is the hallmark of our government: Chief Minister Sai

Approximately ₹10,000 crore will be directly transferred to the accounts of over 2.5 million farmers
Raipur: A Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, held on Wednesday February 11, 2026 at the Ministry Mahanadi Bhawan, took an important decision in the interest of the state’s farmers. Farmers selling paddy at the support price will be given the difference in one lump sum, at the rate of ₹3,100 per quintal, before Holi.
Under this decision, an amount of approximately ₹10,000 crore will be transferred directly to the accounts of over 2.5 million farmers.
Chief Minister Sai said that the smiles of the state’s food-producing brothers and sisters are their greatest asset. He said that the government not only purchases paddy, but also considers it its responsibility to ensure a fair price for the hard work of farmers and protect their dignity. He expressed confidence that this decision will not only provide economic support to farmers but will also enhance the festive spirit.
It is worth mentioning that in the Kharif marketing year 2025-26, 141.04 lakh metric tonnes of paddy was procured from 25,24,339 farmers in the state. Under the Krishak Unnati Yojana, over ₹25,000 crore has been paid to farmers in the form of paddy price difference in the last two years. With the payment of ₹10,000 crore to farmers’ accounts before Holi, this amount will increase to over ₹35,000 crore.
Chief Minister Sai said that farmers are the soul of the state and the strong foundation of the economy. Their hard work and perseverance ensure the prosperity of the state.
The state government is fully committed to the prosperity, dignity, and economic empowerment of farmers, the CM affirmed.
