Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday Augsut 12 , 2025 honored the Swachhata Didi who made a significant contribution in making the cities clean and beautiful by washing their feet in ‘Swachhata Sangam’. In this program organised at Bahtarai Indoor Stadium in Bilaspur, urban bodies which performed excellently in Swachh Survekshan-2024-25 were also honored.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao presided over the program organised by the Urban Administration and Development Department.

Chief Minister Sai also inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of development works worth more than Rs 260 crore in the program. He announced that the urban body securing first position at the national level in cleanliness will be awarded a prize money of one crore rupees, the second position holder will be awarded Rs 50 lakh and the third position holder will be awarded Rs 25 lakh.
On this occasion, MLAs Dharamlal Kaushik, Amar Agarwal, Dharamjit Singh, Dilip Lahariya and Sushant Shukla, Bilaspur Mayor Pooja Vidhani, Chhattisgarh Text Book Corporation Chairman Raja Pandey, CREDA Chairman Bhupendra Savnani and District Panchayat Chairman Rajesh Suryavanshi along with many public representatives were present at ‘Swachhata Sangam-2025’.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai congratulated the Urban Administration Department for the successful organisation of ‘Swachhata Sangam’ and said that the contribution of our Safai Didi in the field of cleanliness is incomparable, and today we have honored them by washing their feet.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had started the Swachh Bharat Mission in the year 2014. Since then, we have been continuously moving forward in the field of cleanliness and achieving new zeniths and Chhattisgarh has achieved remarkable success in this direction.
These achievements inspire us to move ahead.
Chief Minister Sai said that various innovations are being implemented by the Urban Administration Department for the convenience of the citizens. He called for public participation to hoist ‘Tiranga in every house’ on Independence Day and make the state clean and beautiful.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw said that today is a glorious day in the history of Chhattisgarh. The Prime Minister took up the task of cleanliness in 2014 and today it has taken the form of a mass movement.
While making progress in cleanliness, we have created a new identity at the national level and have received awards from the President and the Prime Minister.
It is a matter of pride that our urban bodies have received six awards at the national level. Raipur Municipal Corporation has received a seven-star rating in Garbage-Free City. Among the cities with a population of less than 20 thousand, 58 cities of Chhattisgarh alone have received three-star rating.

Our cities have also accomplished significant achievements in source segregation and waste management. Work is going on rapidly in Chhattisgarh on all parameters of cleanliness. Our aim is that our cities should be clean, beautiful and comfortable and cleanliness should become the identity of Chhattisgarh.
Secretary of Urban Administration and Development Department, Dr. Basavaraju S. informed that 115 cities of the state have significantly improved their ranking in Swachh Survekshan-2024-25. Seven urban bodies which performed excellently in the Swachh Survey have got the honour of being awarded by President Draupadi Murmu in New Delhi. Along with these urban bodies, more than 30 urban bodies which performed excellently at the division level were also honored in the program.
Chief Minister launches online portal for depositing property tax
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai launched the GIS based Property Tax Live Portal to facilitate online deposit of property tax in three Municipal Corporations—Birgaon, Bhilai-Charoda and Dhamtari—and 43 municipalities in the program.
This facility of online property tax payment in 46 cities simultaneously is an important step towards modernizing local self-governance and providing services to citizens at home. This will also accelerate tax collection.
A state-level competition was also launched in ‘Swachhata Sangam’ to raise the standards of cleanliness and urban beautification in urban bodies. The Chief Minister released a video based on Swachh Survekshan-2024-25 by pressing the remote button.
The Chief Minister inaugurated 24 works worth Rs 63.57 crore, performed Bhoomi Pujan of 25 works worth more than Rs 197 crore
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated and performed Bhoomi Pujan of development works worth more than Rs 260 crore in ‘Swachhata Sangam’. He inaugurated 24 construction and development works of various departments worth Rs 63 crore 57 lakh in Bilaspur district and also performed Bhoomi Pujan of 25 works worth more than Rs 197 crore.
On this occasion, Divisional Commissioner Sunil Jain, Inspector General of Police Sanjeev Shukla, Collector Sanjay Agarwal, Superintendent of Police Rajnesh Singh, Mayors of all urban bodies, Chairpersons, Municipal and Nagar Panchayat Chairpersons, Vice-Chairmen, Corporation Commissioner, Chief Municipal Officer, Senior Engineers of urban bodies, Swachhata Didi’s and Swachhata Commandos were present in large numbers.
