Raipur: Young jobseekers from across Chhattisgarh will get an opportunity to connect with private-sector employers at a two-day State-Level Employment Fair being organised at Balbir Singh Juneja Indoor Stadium, Budhapara, Raipur, on October 7 and 8.
Organised by the Chhattisgarh Employment Department under the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, the fair is intended to bring employers and jobseekers onto a common platform and help young people identify employment opportunities suited to their education, skills and experience.
The main programme will begin at 10 am on October 8, with Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attending as Chief Guest and Chhattisgarh Legislative Assembly Speaker Dr Raman Singh presiding.
Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma and ministers Kedar Kashyap, Guru Khushwant Saheb, Ramvichar Netam, Dayaldas Baghel, Lakhan Lal Dewangan, Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, O.P. Choudhary, Laxmi Rajwade, Tank Ram Verma, Rajesh Agrawal and Gajendra Yadav are among the dignitaries scheduled to attend.
Raipur MP Brijmohan Agrawal, Rajya Sabha MP Laxmi Verma, MLAs Purandar Mishra, Rajesh Munat, Anuj Sharma, Sunil Soni, Motilal Sahu and Indra Kumar Sahu, Raipur Mayor Meenal Choubey and Raipur Zila Panchayat President Naveen Agrawal are also expected to be present.
Focus on matching skills with available jobs
Rather than functioning merely as an information event, the employment fair is intended to provide young people direct exposure to vacancies available across different private-sector establishments.
Candidates will be able to obtain information about available positions and explore employment according to their qualifications and skills.
The Employment Department has appealed to young people from across the State to participate in large numbers and make use of the opportunities available during the two-day event.
The fair assumes particular significance as the State seeks to narrow the gap between young people looking for work and private employers looking for appropriately skilled manpower. Bringing both sides together at a single venue can help candidates understand current industry requirements while allowing employers to identify suitable talent.
