BJP slams TMC over Sharmishta Panoli Arrest: The Bharatiya Janata Party has attacked West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and her party Trinamool Congress (TMC) over the arrest of social media influencer Sharmishta Panoli. BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Sharmishta Panoli’s arrest has been termed illegal and has targeted the government. He alleged that the Trinamool Congress has taken this action to please a particular vote bank, while they have not taken any such action against their own leaders till now.

Trinamool Congress only targets Sanatanis – Shubhendu

Targeting the Mamata Banerjee-led West Bengal government, BJP leader Shubhendu Adhikari said, “All action is taken only and only against Sanatanis.” He said, “When Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra made objectionable remarks about Goddess Kali, an FIR was filed against her, but what action was taken against her? Apart from this, what did another MP of her party Sayani Ghosh post on social media platforms about Lord Shiva (Mahadev), was any action taken against her for that? At the same time, many such FIRs have been filed against Firhad Hakim, but has any action been taken against him till date, absolutely not. Because action will be taken only against Sanatanis and here everyone has got the license to abuse Sanatanis.”

Trinamool Congress doing politics of appeasement – Shubhendu

BJP leader and Leader of Opposition in West Bengal Assembly Shubhendu Adhikari said, “Whatever Trinamool Congress is doing is politics of appeasement. They are doing all this only to please a particular community, which is their vote bank.”

He said, “Mahua Moitra used objectionable language against Goddess Kali in a talk show, after which at least 200 FIRs were filed against her, but was any action taken against her, no.”
