Sai Govt completes One yr., CM said – GDP will be ten lakh crore by 2028, Naxalism will be eradicated by 2026, report card presented
Raipur : Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has said that our biggest challenge was to maintain the trust of the people. Now on the completion of one year of my government, I am happy to tell that we have maintained the trust of the people by fulfilling all the big promises made in the form of ‘Modi’s guarantee’. Sai was addressing the media representatives at the local New Circuit House in a press conference organised on Thursday December 12 , 2024 to mark the completion of one year of the government.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that the first year of our government is being completed on Friday December 13 , 2024 . In the last one year, Chhattisgarh state has established many new dimensions of development. We have declared the last one year as the year of trust. In fact, the five years of the previous government in the state were a time of crisis of trust.
The previous government had created a crisis of trust not only for the state but for the entire democracy by reneging on almost all the promises made in the ‘Jan Ghoshna Patra’. Chief Minister Sai said that our biggest challenge was to establish this trust among the people. Now, on completion of one year, when our entire government has presented its report card before the public through you, I am satisfied to tell you that we have restored this trust by fulfilling all the big promises made in the form of ‘Modi Ki Guarantee’. We have had the good fortune of fulfilling the promises made to the mothers and sisters of the state, farmers, youth, and people of the weaker sections who were deprived of housing, CM added .
Chief Minister Sai further said that during the assembly elections, our government had promised the citizens of the state that if our government is formed, we will establish good governance in the state. We will establish a corruption-free and transparent system. As soon as the government was formed, we took prompt action against corruption. Those who are found involved in corruption cases are being sent to jail.
The Chief Minister said that this year our entire focus was on restoring the trust of the people. Now on the foundation of this trust, we have to build the peak of development and prosperity of Chhattisgarh. We will work day and night to contribute to making Chhattisgarh developed and fulfilling the resolution of India’s successful Prime Minister Narendra Modiji of a developed India. On the coming year on November 1, 2025, we will celebrate the silver jubilee of the establishment of the state. We have set a target of taking the state’s GDP to ten lakh crores by the year 2028.
Promise fulfilled to farmers, poor and women
Chief Minister Sai said that we have fulfilled the promise made to farmers and made a record purchase of paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal and 21 quintals per acre. As per our promise, we have also transferred the amount of Rs 3716 crore of two years’ pending paddy bonus to the farmer brothers. He said that fulfilling the promise made to the mothers and sisters of the state, Mahtari Vandan Yojana was started within three months. 70 lakh mothers and sisters are getting its benefit. So far, Rs 6530 crore has been transferred in 10 installments of this scheme. He said that to fulfill the promise of providing 18 lakh Pradhan Mantri Awas for needy families, a decision was taken in the cabinet meeting on the second day of the formation of the government. The tendu leaf collection rate has been increased from Rs 4 thousand per standard sack to Rs 5 thousand 500 per standard sack.
Youth’s trust returned to PSC
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that by implementing the new education policy in the state, education has been made employment oriented. To enhance the talents of the state, it has been decided to build high-tech libraries in 13 urban bodies of the state on the lines of Nalanda campus in Raipur. As per our promise, we have improved the CGPSC examination system. The examinations were conducted with complete transparency and their results were declared. This has brought back the trust of the talents of the state on CG PSC. We started a scheme to provide free ration to 68 lakh poor families of the state for five years. In this way, we have fulfilled most of the guarantees of the successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi within a year.
Establishment of good governance
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our government is striving to establish good governance. To achieve this goal, we have created a new department named Good Governance and Convergence. Our effort is that common citizens do not have to run around offices for small works. For this, we are using technology as much as possible. Their work should be done in one click or one phone call. We are continuously realizing the dream of good governance of Chhattisgarh state maker, former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. What has been called Ram-Raj in the Puranas, we call it good governance.
New facilities in tribal areas
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that we have expanded road, rail and air facilities in tribal areas. Air service has also started from Ambikapur airport now. Public representation has been further strengthened in the authorities formed for the development of Scheduled Tribes, Scheduled Castes and Other Backward Classes. Along with this, Chhattisgarh Tribal Advisory Council has also been formed.
Samman Nidhi for Baiga, Gunia, Sirha
On the occasion of Tribal Pride Day, we have announced to give Samman Nidhi of five thousand rupees annually to Baiga, Gunia, Sirha of the state. Akhra Nirman Vikas Yojana has been started in tribal villages. We have also taken a decision to install statues of tribal freedom fighters and heroes at various places.
Development of tourism facilities in Bastar
A tourism corridor is being constructed in Bastar. It is a great achievement that Dhudmaras village of Kanger Valley has now made its place on the world tourism map. The United Nations World Tourism Organization has included it among the selected 20 villages of the world for the development of tourism in this village. The formation of Guru Ghasidas-Tamor Pingla Tiger Reserve has also strengthened the possibilities of development of tourism in the state. Madheshwar mountain in Surguja has been recognised as the world’s largest natural Shivling.
Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana
Chief Minister said that Lord Ram has a deep relationship with Chhattisgarh. He is our nephew. He spent 10 out of 14 years of exile here. Our effort is that the world should know this relationship of ours with Lord Shri Ram. By starting Shri Ramlala Darshan Yojana in the state, we have arranged for free travel to Ayodhya Dham for the devotees here, so that we can further intensify our relationship with Lord Ram.
Employment oriented industrial policy

Chief Minister Shri Sai said that our new industrial policy has created new possibilities of development in the industrial sector of the state. This policy will strengthen the economy of the state. We have made this policy employment oriented. In the new industrial policy, youth have been encouraged for self-employment. We have also included tourism as an industry. Along with this, there is a special provision to give concessions to micro, small and medium industries. In the new industrial policy, there is a provision to give special incentives to Scheduled Castes and Tribes, women entrepreneurs, retired Agniveers, ex-servicemen, Naxal-affected, surrendered Naxalites and third gender entrepreneurs.
Rapid elimination of Naxalism
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that Naxalism has been rapidly eradicated in the state during the last one year. Union Home Minister Shri Amit Shah has resolved to completely eradicate Naxalism from Chhattisgarh by March 2026. In the last one year, 213 Naxalites have been killed in encounters. About 1750 Naxalites have either been forced to surrender or have been arrested.
Rays of development reaching remote villages
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that one of our biggest successes is that we have been able to bring the rays of democracy and development to the interior villages of Bastar through the ‘Nella Nar Yojana’. Recently, I stayed with the soldiers in the security camp of Bastar, which was the most pleasant experience of my life. Seeing the increased courage and confidence of the soldiers, I also felt new energy within me.
Double engine government accelerates the pace of development
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that due to the double engine government in the state, the state has progressed very fast in one year. We have received full cooperation and support from the Center. During this period, road projects worth Rs 31 thousand crore have been approved for Chhattisgarh. In two years, Chhattisgarh will have a strong network of roads. Also, to strengthen the rail network, we have received approval for many important rail lines from the Center. He said that the process of construction of buildings of four medical colleges has been started in the state. A provision of Rs 1020 crore has been made for the construction of Janjgir-Champa, Kabirdham, Manendragarh and Geedam medical colleges.
Public approval on the work of the government
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the result of the recent by-elections in the state has made it completely clear that we have lived up to the expectations of the citizens of the state. People from every corner of the state live in the capital, so this is in a way the public’s approval on the work of our government.
