NH-130D to Connect Kondagaon–Narayanpur via Kutul to the Maharashtra Border
Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inspected the under-construction National Highway between Narayanpur and Kondagaon during his two-day visit to Narayanpur district. During the inspection, the Chief Minister issued clear instructions to the concerned officials that road construction work must be completed with high quality standards and strictly within the prescribed timeline.
He emphasised that no negligence would be tolerated in the execution of this important infrastructure project.
Bastar’s Development Gains Momentum Under the Double-Engine Government
Giving fresh impetus to development under the double-engine government, the State Government has accorded priority to the construction of National Highway 130D, which will connect the Bastar region directly with Maharashtra. With a total length of approximately 195 kilometres, NH-130D is a spur route of NH-30. The highway originates from Kondagaon and passes through Narayanpur and Kutul before reaching Nelangur at the Maharashtra border. Beyond the state boundary, the road extends through Bingunda, Lahre, Dhodraj, Bhamragarh, Hema and Lakasa to reach Alapalli, where it connects with NH-353D.
Once completed, this national highway will integrate the Bastar region with the national highway network, strengthening trade, tourism and the overall security framework.
122 km Stretch Located in Chhattisgarh
The Kondagaon–Narayanpur section of National Highway 130D, measuring nearly 50 kilometres, is currently under construction. The distance from Narayanpur to Kutul is about 50 kilometres, while the stretch from Kutul to Nelangur at the Maharashtra border is approximately 21.5 kilometres. Out of the total 195 kilometres of the highway, around 122 kilometres fall within Chhattisgarh.
Completion of this road will provide Bastar with a direct, secure and durable road link to Maharashtra. It will also ensure smoother and safer movement in areas affected by Left Wing Extremism, significantly improving accessibility and connectivity for local residents.
Forest Clearance Secured with Prime Minister’s Support
With the cooperation and support of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, forest clearance and construction permission were obtained for the stretch passing through the Abujhmad region. This approval paved the way for the execution of this ambitious national highway project, which had long been considered critical for regional connectivity.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai stated that “National Highway 130D is not merely a road, but a pathway to the progress of the Bastar region. The government is making sustained efforts to complete this project at a fast pace. The people of Bastar will directly benefit from this highway, which will connect Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra while contributing significantly to the social and economic development of the region.”
He further noted that the project would prove to be a milestone in accelerating development in Naxal-affected areas and would usher in a new era of confidence, investment and mobility. On the occasion, Revenue Minister Tank Ram Verma, Member of Parliament Mahesh Kashyap, Chairman of the Minor Forest Produce Federation Roopsai Salam, Secretary to the Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat and senior administrative officers were present.
