Raipur: Students from the Education Department of Pragati College, Raipur, step forward to promote organ donation awareness by participating enthusiastically in the ‘ILS Walkathon – An Organ Donation Initiative’, organised by ILS Hospital at Marine Drive. Held at 6 a.m. on Sunday, October 25, 2026, the event brings together physical activity, public awareness and a message of compassion towards those whose lives may be transformed through organ donation.
Centred on the themes “Chalo Saath Chalein, Jeevan Ke Liye Chalein” — “Let us walk together, let us walk for life” — and “Mor Raipur, Mor Jeevandan”, the walkathon encourages participants to take a message of social responsibility beyond the campus and into the community.

The participating students help spread awareness about organ donation, carrying the message: “Pledge to donate organs; become a new dawn in someone’s life.”
Their involvement gives practical expression to the values of service, empathy and responsibility. By joining a public awareness initiative, the students contribute to a conversation that asks people to consider how an individual decision can hold significance for another person and their family.
The walkathon provides an opportunity to engage with a humanitarian cause through collective participation. For the college contingent, the occasion connects education with an understanding of responsibilities towards the wider community.
Zumba Session Sets an Energetic Tone
The programme begins with a Zumba session intended to encourage fitness awareness among participants.
Students join the session enthusiastically before taking part in the walkathon. The opening activity brings an energetic start to the morning, combining exercise with the event’s larger purpose of promoting awareness.
The format allows participants to come together around both personal well-being and concern for others, making the programme a shared community experience.
Students Take Awareness Beyond the Classroom
Throughout the event, the Education Department students participate with enthusiasm, helping communicate the organisers’ message on organ donation.
Their presence underlines the importance of student involvement in public awareness activities. Such participation creates space for young people to reflect on social concerns and contribute through their time, effort and willingness to engage.
For students preparing for roles in education, the initiative also offers an occasion to consider how awareness, communication and personal example can encourage discussion within society.
The central message remains one of humanity: becoming attentive to the needs of others and recognising opportunities to contribute to a larger public cause.
College Receives Memento from Organisers
At the conclusion of the programme, the organising committee presents Pragati College with a memento in appreciation of its enthusiastic participation.
The recognition acknowledges the college contingent’s involvement in supporting the walkathon and carrying its awareness message to the public.
The presentation also marks the students’ contribution to an activity built around cooperation between an educational institution and a healthcare organisation.
College Leadership Appreciates Students’ Efforts
The Principal of Pragati College Dr, Soumya Nayyar and the Head of the Education Department Dr. K N Gajpal appreciate the students’ participation in the initiative.
Their appreciation recognises the willingness of students to devote their time to a cause centred on service and compassion.
Through their involvement in the walkathon, the students bring the programme’s call to “walk for life” into public view, demonstrating how campus participation can support community awareness and encourage thoughtful engagement with organ donation.
