BJP national spokesperson Shahzad Poonawala reacted sharply to Udit Raj’s statement on Shashi Tharoor. He alleged that the Congress has deployed Udit Raj to attack Tharoor at the behest of Gandhi.

At this time, if the name of any Congress leader is in the most discussion, then it is Shashi Tharoor. The situation is such that the leaders of his own party are criticizing Shashi Tharoor and calling him the super spokesperson of BJP.

At the same time, BJP is seen defending Shashi Tharoor. Actually, today Congress party leader and former MP Udit Raj launched a scathing attack on his own party MP Shashi Tharoor and called him the super spokesperson of BJP. At the same time, the Bharatiya Janata Party has hit back at the Congress regarding his statement. BJP said that Udit Raj is taking a dig at Shashi Tharoor at the behest of Rahul Gandhi. Because Tharoor, MP from Kerala, put national interest above the party and the Gandhi family in the matter of exposing Pakistan on the international platform.

Shashi Tharoor is part of the all-party delegation sent by the central government on tours to various countries and is leading a delegation. The delegation led by Shashi Tharoor is currently present in Panama.

Congress is firing missiles on its own leader – Shehzad Poonawala

BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala reacted sharply to Udit Raj’s statement on Shashi Tharoor. He alleged that the Congress has deployed Udit Raj to attack Tharoor at the behest of Gandhi. That too at a time when a multi-party Indian delegation led by the Congress MP is abroad to expose Pakistan on the international platform. He said that the Congress, which is firing missiles on its own leader, will not utter a single word against Pakistan. Poonawala said that Tharoor is being attacked because he put national policy above vote bank (politics). He alleged that the Congress, which was saying in the all-party meeting that it is with the country and the Indian armed forces on this issue, is now showing its double standards.

The BJP spokesperson also cited the recent statements of Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders during this time. He alleged that the opposition party is trying to give Pakistan a clean chit in the terror attack in Pahalgam on April 22.

What did Udit Raj say?

Shashi Tharoor said in a speech in Panama that ‘the Indian government has changed its thinking in recent years. After which the terrorists have also realised that they will have to pay the price for attacking India. This comment of Tharoor angered the leaders of his own party. Udit Raj said that Congress MP Shashi Tharoor has become the super spokesperson of the BJP. Whatever the BJP leaders are not saying, Shashi Tharoor is saying about PM Modi and the government.

Does he (Tharoor) even know what the previous governments did? They (the central government) are taking credit for the Indian armed forces. Shashi Tharoor has become the spokesperson of the propaganda department of the BJP.’

What did Shashi Tharoor say that angered Congressmen

In his speech in Panama, Shashi Tharoor mentioned the surgical strike and Balakot strike and said that ‘India’s thinking has changed in recent years. Now terrorists know that they will have to pay the price. There is no doubt about this. For the first time, India crossed the LOC during the surgical strike and attacked terrorist hideouts. Even during the Kargil war, we did not cross the border. This time we have not only crossed the border but also the international border. We targeted nine terrorist hideouts in Punjab located in the middle of Pakistan.’

‘How can you be so dishonest towards the party’

On this, Congress leader Udit Raj wrote on social media that ‘How can you belittle the golden history of Congress by saying that before PM Modi, India never crossed the LOC. In the 1965 war, the Indian Army had reached Lahore. In 1971, during the Congress rule, Pakistan was divided into two parts. Also, during the tenure of the UPA government, many surgical strikes were carried out, but they were not publicised. How can you be so dishonest towards the party, the party which gave you so much.’
