PM Modi In G7 Summit: PM Modi, who arrived in Canada on Tuesday June 16 , 2025 to participate in the ongoing G-7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, met many global leaders including South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum. During the meeting , PM Modi discussed many important issues, including issues like trade, pharmaceuticals, science and technology, digital innovation.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who arrived to attend the ongoing G-7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada, met several global leaders including South Korean President Lee Jae-myung and Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo Obrador on the sidelines of the summit on Tuesday. PM’s initiative during the summit
However, earlier Prime Minister Modi had said that he would discuss the priorities of the Global South and important international issues while meeting global leaders at the G-7 summit.
It is worth mentioning that this is PM Modi’s first visit to Canada in the last ten years.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met South Korean President Lee Jae-myung during the ongoing 51st G-7 summit in Kananaskis, Canada. This meeting took place on the sidelines of the summit, in which both the leaders reiterated their commitment to further strengthen the special strategic partnership between India and South Korea.
Consensus reached on these issues
During the meeting between the two leaders, an agreement was reached to increase cooperation in many areas such as trade and economy, new and emerging technologies, green hydrogen, shipbuilding, culture and people-to-people contact. Apart from this, they also shared views on regional and global issues. This meeting is being considered an important step to give a new direction to the bilateral relations between the two countries.

During the summit, PM Modi met Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum in Kananaskis. During this, the two leaders discussed ways to further deepen India-Mexico cooperation in trade, pharmaceuticals, science and technology, digital innovation. Along with this, PM Modi and Mexican President Sheinbaum also discussed major global and regional issues including the priorities of the Global South.
