Amidst the controversy surrounding the removal of a female Ayush doctor’s hijab in Patna, Bihar Governor Arif Mohammad Khan has issued a statement. He described the entire incident as unfortunate and said that it is distressing to even talk about any kind of dispute in a father-daughter relationship.

Political rhetoric across the country has intensified over the hijab controversy. The governor’s statement comes amidst protests from opposition parties and social organizations. He said that even discussing a dispute between a father and daughter is unfortunate. The governor stated that Nusrat Parveen is a daughter of the nation, and it is inappropriate to call this matter a controversy.

Governor Arif Mohammad Khan said, “This doesn’t happen between a father and daughter. It is sad to even talk about a dispute in this relationship. Nitish Kumar is like a father.”

What is the whole matter?

The controversy began when a public event was being held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat ‘Samvad’ building in Patna. A viral video claimed that Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was seen removing the hijab of a female doctor, Nusrat Parveen, while handing her an appointment letter. The RJD shared this video on its official social media page, questioning the Chief Minister’s behavior. RJD leader Mrityunjay Tiwari said that the Chief Minister is continuously insulting women and is no longer fit to govern Bihar. Such behavior is unbecoming of a person holding a constitutional office.

Giriraj Singh comes out in support

However, Union Minister Giriraj Singh came out in support of Nitish Kumar in this controversy. He said that the Chief Minister had done nothing wrong. Giriraj Singh stated that showing one’s face is necessary in government procedures, and accepting or rejecting a government job is entirely the woman’s personal decision.

Bihar Health Minister Mangal Pandey said that the state’s NDA government has always worked for women’s empowerment. He said that Nitish Kumar has always respected women through his policies and actions.
