Raipur: Security forces have achieved a major success in the anti-Naxal operation in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. 17 Naxalites were killed in an encounter in Keralapal police station area, including Jagdish alias Budhra, accused of the Jhiram Valley attack and in-charge of Darbha Division. A reward of ₹ 25 lakh was announced on Jagdish and he was also involved in the attack on DRG jawans in Aranpur, Sukma in 2023.

In this operation, DRG and CRPF personnel entered the Naxal stronghold and took action. AK-47, SLR, INSAS rifle, .303 rifle, rocket launcher and explosive material have been recovered from the encounter site. After the encounter, when the soldiers returned to the camp with the bodies of the Naxalites, Naxal operation specialist DIG Kamal Lochan honored the soldiers by feeding them sweets and praised their bravery. He called it an important step towards the elimination of Naxalism.

Bastar IG Sundarraj P. said that based on the information about the presence of Naxalites in the border area of ​​Sukma-Dantewada, a joint team of DRG and CRPF was sent on the operation. Several encounters took place since 8 am on Saturday March 29, 2025 in which 17 Naxalites have been killed so far.

Search operation continues
IG Sundarraj P. said that the killed Naxalites are being identified and search operation is going on in the area. He also said that the condition of the injured soldiers is stable and arrangements are being made for their better treatment.
