Atal Nagar is rapidly progressing towards becoming a healthcare hub.

Raipur: Health, education, and research are the foundations of any developed society. As India rapidly progresses towards becoming a developed nation by 2047, quality healthcare services have become a key priority.

In this context, the “Medicity” project being developed by the Chhattisgarh government in Nava Raipur Atal Nagar is ushering in a new era of healthcare not only in Chhattisgarh but throughout Central India.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and the guidance of Finance Minister OP Choudhary, this project is emerging as the country’s most ambitious and forward-looking healthcare initiative.

Nava Raipur Atal Nagar is already a major hub of education, transportation, industry, and modern urban infrastructure. Now, Medicity is poised to establish it as a national healthcare capital. State-of-the-art connectivity, extensive transportation network, and geographically strategic location are making Nava Raipur a major destination for advanced healthcare services not only for Chhattisgarh, but also for neighboring states like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.

Over 70 million passengers use the airport and rail services annually, and the imminent resumption of international flights will open up vast opportunities for medical tourism.

The Medicity, being developed on 200 acres in Sectors 36-37, will have a capacity of over 5,000 beds and the participation of the country’s leading healthcare groups, establishing it as the largest healthcare city in the country.

A medical university, nursing college, and research institute are being established at Medicity to prepare a new and competent generation of doctors, nurses, and paramedical professionals. State-of-the-art diagnostic labs, along with cardiology, oncology, neurology, orthopedics, organ transplant, and multi-specialty hospitals, will elevate healthcare services to new heights.

Facilities such as residential complexes, hostels, hotels, and dharamshalas for patients and their families will transform the entire area into a well-organised, human-centric medical zone.

The “walk-to-hospital” model, environmentally friendly design, easy public transport connectivity, and affordable treatment services under schemes like PMJAY and CGHS make the project fully inclusive.

It is worth mentioning that the excellent healthcare institutions already operating in Nava Raipur provide a strong foundation for this structure. Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Hospital has been a national and international leader in pediatric cardiology since 2012, attracting patients from India, as well as Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and African countries.

The 170-bed Balco Cancer Hospital, operating since 2018, provides state-of-the-art cancer treatment within a 500–600 km radius of Central India. Raipur’s clean environment and low cost of living make it even more suitable for patients.

Medicity will not only be a healthcare project but also a major hub of economic activity. Thousands of jobs will be created in healthcare, pharma, wellness, and support services. The expansion of affordable housing, commercial establishments, and new service activities around it will also significantly contribute to the state’s GDP.

Nava Raipur Medicity represents the Chhattisgarh government’s commitment to providing quality healthcare, affordable healthcare, and a secure life for all. This is not just a project, but a new definition of India’s healthy, secure, and developed future. In the coming years, Nava Raipur Atal Nagar Medicity will revolutionise the healthcare landscape not only in Central India but across the country, establishing itself as a leading healthcare model internationally.

Nava Raipur Medicity will become an engine of Chhattisgarh’s economic and social progress, driving the state’s development for decades to come.

This world-class healthcare city, being developed on 200 acres, will not only provide advanced medical facilities but will also provide a strong foundation for the state’s economy by creating thousands of jobs in the healthcare, pharma, wellness, education, and service sectors.

The establishment of AIIMS, Bombay Hospital Trust, Medical University, and super-specialty institutions will propel Nava Raipur into a national health hub.
