Raipur: The Chhattisgarh government is constantly striving to ensure uninterrupted supply of chemical fertilizers to farmers. Keeping in mind the shortage of DAP (Di-Ammonium Phosphate) during Kharif 2025, the state government has made special arrangements for the storage and distribution of Nano DAP as its practical alternative.
Besides alternative fertilizers like NPK and SSP have also been stored in more than the target quantity. To meet the shortage of solid DAP fertilizer in farming, farmers are being advised to use the amount of Nano DAP or NPK and Single Super Phosphate fertilizer as per the suggestion of agricultural scientists as per its alternative.
Nano DAP is a modern, economical and effective liquid fertilizer, which is much more useful and rich in nutrients than traditional DAP. Scientists of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University, Raipur have supported Nano DAP and said that its use reduces the cost of cultivation. Nano DAP effectively fulfills the nutritional deficiency in the field and also increases the quality of production. Nano DAP is also safe for the environment. One sack of solid DAP is used for one acre of paddy crop. Its cost is Rs 1350, whereas if a mixture of 25 kg solid DAP and 500 ml nano DAP is used in one acre, then its cost comes down to Rs 1275.
Agricultural scientists of Indira Gandhi Agricultural University have given detailed information about the method of using Nano DAP for one acre of paddy cultivation. According to scientists only 650 ml of Nano DAP is required for one acre of paddy cultivation. Before sowing paddy, 30 kg of seeds for one acre are treated with 150 ml Nano DAP dissolved in three liters of water and seeds are dried in the shade for half an hour and then sowing is done.
At the time of transplantation, mix 250 ml of Nano DAP in 50 liters of water and keep the roots of the crop immersed in it for half an hour. After transplantation and sowing of the crop, 250 ml of Nano DAP is to be dissolved in 125 liters of water and sprayed on the standing crop thirty days after transplantation. This provides nutrients to the crops.
Nano DAP is a far better option to provide abundant nutrients to the crops. It is less costly and more effective than traditional DAP.
The cost of a sack of traditional DAP is around Rs 1350, while one bottle of Nano DAP can benefit several acres of land. It is sprayed directly on the plants through a spray, which leads to quick absorption of nutrients.
As per the instructions of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, the state government is storing sufficient quantities of alternative fertilizers including Nano DAP in committees as an alternative to DAP fertilizer for farmers. Training and awareness camps are also being organised for its use to farmers. The Agriculture Department has appealed to the farmers to use alternative fertilizers like Nano DAP and NPK, SSP.
