Governor CV Anand Bose was leaving without meeting the villagers in Dhuliyan, Murshidabad. When the villagers created a ruckus, the Governor met the people. The head of the National Women’s Commission has also met the victims.
On Saturday April 19 , 2025 . The Governor had to face opposition from the villagers in Dhuliyan of Murshidabad district of West Bengal. The Governor was leaving Bedwana village of Ward-16 of Dhuliyan without meeting the villagers, on which the villagers got angry and created a ruckus. Seeing the protest, the Governor met the villagers and listened to them.
According to the information, there was a lot of vandalism in this area on Saturday. The miscreants also targeted temples.

A senior official said that Governor Bose met the families of a couple of people killed in the violence during a protest against the Wakf Act in Murshidabad district and assured them of all possible help. A senior official gave this information.

Bodies found at home in Jafrabad area
The bodies of Hargovind Das and Chandan Das were found in their house in Jafrabad area of Shamsherganj and there were several knife wounds on the body. A Raj Bhavan official said, ‘The Governor visited their (relatives of the deceased) house, spoke to the family members and assured them of assistance. The family has demanded a CBI inquiry into the incident.’
NCW chief meets victims
On the other hand, a team led by National Commission for Women chief Vijaya Rahatkar met the victims of violence in Dhuliyan today and assured that the central government would take appropriate steps for their safety. During this, the victims of Betbona town of Dhuliyan narrated their ordeal to the team of the Women’s Commission and demanded that permanent BSF camps be set up in the district and the communal clashes be investigated by the NIA (National Investigation Agency).
