MEA Responds to UK Report Claiming Wrong Body Sent After Air India Crash

The spokesperson assured that efforts are ongoing in coordination with the UK to address any concerns related to the case.

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) on Wednesday July 23, 2025 addressed concerns raised by a UK media report alleging that the family of a British national who died in the recent Air India plane crash received the wrong body.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal stated that India has been working closely with UK authorities since the issue was brought to their attention. “In the wake of the tragic crash, the concerned authorities had carried out identification of victims as per established protocols and technical requirements,” Jaiswal said.

He emphasised that all mortal remains were handled with utmost professionalism and dignity. The spokesperson assured that efforts are ongoing in coordination with the UK to address any concerns related to the case.
