Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said – Naxalism is now counting its last breaths, the state government is committed to complete elimination by 31 March 2026

Raipur: Security forces have achieved another major success against Naxalism in Chhattisgarh. A total of 9 Maoists, including ₹ 24 lakh bounty, have surrendered on August 6, 2025 in Bijapur district, while in another development, a Maoist has been neutralised during an encounter.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that this is the picture of changing Bastar where guns are bowing down and the voice of development is getting louder. The Chief Minister said that this success is a result of the indomitable courage of the security forces and the efficient leadership and guidance of Amit Shah, who has served as the Union Home Minister for the longest time in the history of India.

Chief Minister Sai said that the tenure of Union Minister Amit Shah is an era of internal security of India which has made the impossible possible. Be it the historic abolition of Article 370 or the decision to strike hard on Naxalism and terrorism – he has always taken India forward as a safe, strong and self-confident nation.

In Chhattisgarh, about 450 Maoists have been neutralised since December 2023, as many as 1579 Maoists have been arrested, and about 1589 Maoists have surrendered. These figures are proof that Naxalism has now reached its final stage.

The Chief Minister clarified that the Chhattisgarh government is fully committed to completely eradicate Naxalism from the state by March 31, 2026 in accordance with the wishes of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

The Chief Minister has also directed the administrative officers to speed up the process of rehabilitation of surrendered Maoists and connect them with the mainstream.

Chief Minister Sai has congratulated the security forces, intelligence agencies and administrative staff for this success and said that Bastar has now moved from darkness to light. Development will now become its identity.
