Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde to reach Srinagar tonight
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde will reach Srinagar on Wednesday night in the wake of the death of 26 civilians and injuries to many in the terror attack in Pahalgam. A spokesperson said that Eknath Shinde will leave for Srinagar from Mumbai at 7:30 pm.
He said, ‘His visit reflects the commitment of the Maharashtra government to the safety and welfare of all tourists and pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir.’ 26 civilians, including six from Maharashtra, were killed in an attack on a group of tourists by four terrorists in the Baisaran area of Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon. Out of the six tourists from Maharashtra, the bodies of four will be taken to Mumbai and two to Pune.’

CCS meeting begins at PM residence
The Cabinet Committee on Security (CCS) is meeting shortly regarding the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, South Kashmir. This meeting started at the Prime Minister’s residence. The meeting is being chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He reached Delhi from Srinagar a short while ago. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval are also present in the meeting.
