US Vice President will get a royal welcome in Jaipur, Chanda and Pushpa will be the center of attraction
Preparations are going on in full swing in the Pink City for the visit of US Vice President JD Vance to Jaipur. The most important role in this historic welcome will be played by two royal elephants of Jaipur – Chanda and Pushpa, who are famous for hospitality in Rajasthani style.
Vice President James David will be welcomed in a grand manner at the Surajpol Gate of Amer Mahal. Chanda and Pushpa will be dressed in special silver howdahs, along with traditional Rajasthani jewelry has also been arranged for them. Both the elephants are being given special training in Hathi Village these days so that they can welcome the guests properly.
Amidst the preparations going on in Hathi Village, Chanda and Pushpa are being bathed daily and they are being trained for the ceremony. Pushpa, who is 19 years old, will welcome the US Vice President by saluting him, while 28-year-old Chanda will greet the guests by garlanding them with her trunk. Elephant owner Ballu Khan said, ‘All preparations are almost complete. It is a matter of pride for us that Chanda and Pushpa are getting the opportunity to welcome such a big personality.’

US Vice President’s Jaipur visit: Know where there is no-entry, where the route is diverted
US Vice President JD Vance is coming to Jaipur from New Delhi. Keeping in mind his safety, the traffic police has planned special traffic diversion on many routes for four days. From 9 to 10 pm tonight, the movement of all types of vehicles will be completely closed on JLN Marg. During this time, one lane of the airport road will also be closed in advance.
This visit of the US Vice President in Jaipur will start from April 22 and will continue till April 24. During this time, he will visit major tourist places like Amer Palace, City Palace, Jantar-Mantar. In such a situation, traffic on the routes connected to these places will be closed from 8 am to noon. Restrictions will also be imposed on the roads from Albert Hall to New Gate to City Palace and Badi Chaupad during this period.
Major arrangements for diversion:
Entry from Apex Circle, Gopalpura Bypass and OTS Chauhara going towards the airport from JLN Marg will be prohibited.
On April 22, traffic around Amer Palace will be diverted from 8 am.
On April 23, traffic will be diverted from Rambagh to JLN Marg from 8 am.
The US Vice President will leave Jaipur on the morning of April 24.
After this, traffic will become normal after 8 am.
Heavy security arrangements
Vice President Vance is likely to attend a program at OTS Chowk on April 23 at 3 pm. In such a situation, traffic from Rambagh to OTS Chowk and Jhalana RASI will be diverted. Police will be on constant surveillance during the entire tour and flexible traffic control will be done as per the need.
Police appeal
The police have appealed to the students and common citizens to reach their destination before the scheduled time so that they do not get stuck on the roads due to examination or other reasons. Especially during BVIT movement, students associated with colleges or educational institutions should take special care of time. In such a situation, Jaipur residents are being advised to follow the traffic alert for the next four days and use alternative routes to avoid inconvenience.
