International Women’s Day (IWD) is a global day celebrating the achievements of women.

International Women’s Day is a call to action – a call to break down the barriers that still exist, to challenge stereotypes, and to ensure that every woman has the opportunity to thrive. It is a day to reflect on how far we have come in empowering women and how much farther we need to go to ensure that all women are treated with dignity, respect, and equality.


Addressing the gathering Principal of the Pragati College Dr. Saumya Nayyar who presided over the program said that the theme of International Women’s Day: 2025 (IWD) is “For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment,” emphasising the urgency to expedite progress toward gender parity. Besides “today, we celebrate the indomitable spirit of Indian women, who are breaking barriers and shaping our nation’s future.”, Dr. Saumya Nayyar said .

The program started with performing Puja of Goddess Saraswati by lightning lamp and offering flowers by special guest Dr, Radha Pandey ( Principal Govt. DSV Sanakrit College ,Raipur , Principal of the Pragati College Dr. Soumya Nayyar and Administer Ms. Jyoti Thakur
In the beginning a student of Education Department welcomed the special Guest Principal Dr. Radha Pandey by applying tilak on forehead to symbolising spiritual connection,
While addressing the students of Education Department Special Guest Dr. Radha Pandey said that , we are gathered here to celebrate a special occasion that honours the achievements, struggles, and triumphs of women across the world – International Women’s Day. Celebrated on March 8th every year, this day not only reminds us of the importance of gender equality but also acknowledges the tremendous contributions women have made to society, she added.
Program was conducted by MS Chinmayee Das and vote of thanks was given by Mrs, Gunjan Sharma. While expressing her gratitude Mrs. Sharma said that I would like to express my appreciation to our Special guests, who have taken time out of her busy schedule to grace this occasion with her presence. Your presence has added an extra spark to this event and made it more special ma’am , she indicated towards Dr. Radha Pandey .
Finally, I would like to thank each and every one of you, Principal Ma’am , Administrator Ma’am , HOD Gajpal Sir, HOD Journalism Dr, Praveen Kumar Yadav Sir , my collogues and students for your support and participation in making this event a grand success.
