Mohammad Yunus, in a meeting with Nagrik Ekta Party president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, reportedly claimed that a conspiracy was being hatched to regain Indian hegemony in Bangladesh
In a weekly media briefing on Thursday May 29, 2025 the Ministry of External Affairs rejected the claims of Mohammad Yunus, in which he alleged that India was trying to destabilise Bangladesh.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said on Thursday May 29, 2025 that the allegations being leveled by Bangladesh against India are an attempt to divert attention from the real issues. Jaiswal said that as far as the government there is concerned, he (Mohammad Yunus) is making such allegations due to its inability to handle law and order and governance issues.
‘He is running away from his responsibilities’
Taking a dig at Mohammad Yunus, the spokesperson of the Ministry of External Affairs said that even in such a situation, if someone blames others for the problems of his country, then it clearly shows that he wants to divert attention from the real issues. Making fabricated allegations against another country is not going to solve their problems. It seems that he is running away from his responsibilities. Yunus’s press secretary had said recently that relentless efforts are being made to destabilize Bangladesh from both internal and external sides, which has created a war-like situation in the country.
‘Bangladesh is now going through a war-like situation’
In a meeting with Nagrik Ekta Party president Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Mohammad Yunus reportedly claimed that a conspiracy is being hatched to regain Indian hegemony in Bangladesh. He alleged that India is unable to accept the changes in Bangladesh. According to Yunus, Bangladesh is now going through a war-like situation. Randhir Jaiswal said that an inclusive, free and fair election should be held in Bangladesh soon to find out the will and mandate of its people.
