India PAK Conflict LIVE: Pakistan on backfoot, DGMO initiates talks; India declares ceasefire

In response to the Pahalgam terrorist attack on April 22, India carried out Operation Sindoor on May 7 against terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Enraged by this, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases and civilian areas. For four days, Pakistan kept hatching new conspiracies. India gave a restrained and befitting reply to this. Due to heavy losses and embarrassment in the world, Pakistan talked to India today at 3.35 pm and appealed for a ceasefire. After this, India announced a ceasefire at around 6 pm.
A ceasefire was declared between India and Pakistan on Saturday evening. India has agreed to a ceasefire on the initiative of Pakistan which backed down due to the strong response given by the Indian Army. The ceasefire between the two countries has been confirmed by Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.
India-Pakistan to talk again on May 12 , 2025
Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri said, ‘Pakistan’s Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) called the Indian DGMO at 3:35 pm today. It was agreed between them that both sides will stop all kinds of firing and military action on land, air and sea from 1700 hrs Indian Standard Time. Today both sides have been instructed to implement this agreement. The Director General of Military Operations will talk again on 12 May at 1200 hrs.’
India’s stand against terrorism is firm – S Jaishankar
Confirming the ceasefire, Foreign Minister S Jaishankar wrote on X that India and Pakistan have agreed to stop firing and military action today. India has consistently taken a firm and unwavering stand against terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. It will continue to do so.
India-Pakistan agreed to ceasefire – Trump
