Abstract- Most of the 2.3 million people of Asian origin living in America are living in poverty. Most of the Asian citizens living below the poverty line in America are those who are above 25 years of age and also have a bachelor’s degree. According to research, the poverty rate among citizens of Burmese origin is 19 percent and among Hmong origin it is 17 percent.
People living outside America often think that people living there earn more and live a good life, but the reality can be different. According to the Pew Research Center, most of the 2.3 million people of Asian origin living in America are living in poverty. Pew Research has analyzed the data of the US Census Bureau and said that one in every 10 Asian Americans lives in poverty.
However, Indian-Americans are living a much better life than other Asian-origin citizens. The poverty rate among Indian-Americans is 6 percent, which is the lowest compared to other Asian-origin citizens.

40 percent of Asian Americans living below the poverty line are unable to save. Not only this, 38 percent of adults of Asian origin are dependent on food banks and charitable trusts for food.
When will the dream be fulfilled?
Every year, millions of people from Asian countries go to America to fulfill their dreams. But research shows that 47 percent of the citizens feel that they can never fulfill their dreams by coming here. Whereas, 15 percent of the people of Asian origin feel that they have got what they wanted. At the same time, 36 percent believe that they are on the way to fulfill their dreams.
91% of Asians believe that if they get to live their life according to their wish, it would be a dream come true for them. Whereas, 90% of the people believe that retiring comfortably is a dream come true.
More than 2 crore Asian-Americans
It is estimated that 2.35 crore people in America are of Asian origin. The highest number of citizens, 52 lakh, are of Chinese origin. Indians are at the second place. The population of Indians in America is about 48 lakh. Among them, more than 16 lakh are visa holders. While there are more than 10 lakh people who were born in America.
