Home Minister Amit Shah presents Prestigious ‘President’s Colours Award- 2024’ to Chhattisgarh Police, said- Naxalism will be eradicated before 31 March 2026

Chhattisgarh Police received this honour in just 25 years of its establishment.

Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the country will be completely freed from Naxalism before 31 March 2026. In the last one year, security forces neutralised 287 Naxalites, arrested 1000 and 837 Naxalites surrendered. Chhattisgarh Police has taken its role to new heights with passion, faith and dedication towards realising the dream of a Naxal-free and drug-free India.
The Home Minister appealed to the Naxalites to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream of society and contribute to the development of Chhattisgarh. Due to the strict policy of the Modi government against Naxalism, for the first time in 4 decades, the death toll of civilians and security forces has come below 100.
Raipur: Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah on Sunday December 15, 2024 presented the ‘President’s Colours’ Award -2024 to the Chhattisgarh Police in Raipur on the first day of his Chhattisgarh visit. Many dignitaries including Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sharma were present on the occasion.
In his address, Amit Shah said that getting the President’s insignia is a matter of great pride for any armed force and in the short span of 25 years of its establishment, Chhattisgarh Police has achieved this honour by winning the trust of the President. He said that Chhattisgarh Police is one of the best police forces in the country with its passion, bravery and dedication.
The Home Minister said that being honoured with the President’s insignia as it enters the 25th year of its establishment is a symbol of the hard work, dedication, bravery and attachment of Chhattisgarh Police towards the public. He said that Chhattisgarh Police is serving the people of the state with distinction, commitment, bravery and dedication. Union Home Minister said that Chhattisgarh Police has always been at the forefront in its efforts to strengthen law and order, Naxalism-free and drug-free India campaign, public safety and making the lives of citizens easier.
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that today is the death anniversary of Sardar Patel ji. He said that Sardar Saheb’s indomitable courage and determination worked to unite this country. Shah said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi ji completed the unfinished work of Sardar Saheb and by abolishing Article 370, connected Kashmir with India forever. He said that today the whole country is paying tribute to Sardar Saheb with gratitude.
Amit Shah said that the decades-old demand for the formation of Chhattisgarh was fulfilled by Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji. The Home Minister expressed confidence that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Chhattisgarh will be completely freed from Naxalism before March 31, 2026. He said that the Modi government is committed to freeing Chhattisgarh as well as other states of the country from Naxalism. He said that the Chhattisgarh Police is moving towards achieving this resolution with bravery and has achieved many achievements in the fight against Naxalism in the last one year.
Security forces have neutralised 287 Naxalites, arrested 1000 and 837 Naxalites surrendered
The Union Home Minister said that in the fight against Naxalism in the last one year under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, security forces have neutralised 287 Naxalites, arrested 1000 and 837 Naxalites surrendered. He said that 14 top Naxalites were among those who got killed. He said that due to the strict policy of the Modi government against Naxalism, the death toll of civilians and security forces has come down below 100 for the first time in 4 decades. He further said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Naxalism has been curbed in the last 10 years, due to which the death of security forces has reduced by 73% and the death of civilians by 70% compared to the previous 10 years. Shah said that Chhattisgarh Police, along with other security forces, has given the final blow to Naxalism in the last one year and many development works have been done in Chhattisgarh under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, Shah Added .
Amit Shah said that the first President’s insignia was given to the Indian Navy in 1951 and today to get this insignia, any armed force has to serve for 25 years. He also thanked the President of India for honoring the 25 years of service, dedication, sacrifice and sacrifice of Chhattisgarh Police.
Naxalism will be eradicated from Chhattisgarh before March 31, 2026
The Union Home and Cooperation Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Modi, the Central Government and the State Government are committed to the complete elimination of Naxalism from Chhattisgarh before March 31, 2026. The Home Minister appealed to the Naxalites to leave the path of violence and join the mainstream of society and move forward on the path of development and contribute to the development of Chhattisgarh. He said that the Chhattisgarh government has made a very good surrender policy in which arrangements have been made for the rehabilitation of every Naxalite after surrender.
Amit Shah said that the Chhattisgarh Police has also achieved great successes by working firmly against organized crimes and narcotics. He said that from January 1, 2024 to September 30, 2024, 1100 cases of narcotics have been registered, 21 thousand kilograms of ganja, 6 thousand kilograms of opium and about 1 lakh 95 thousand narcotic pills have been seized and 1400 people have been arrested in these cases. He said that Chhattisgarh has also been at the forefront in the use of (Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act) PITNDPS Act.
The Union Home Minister expressed confidence that every jawan of Chhattisgarh Police will make a huge contribution in proving the resolve of a developed Chhattisgarh and developed Bastar. He said that Chhattisgarh’s huge contribution will also be inscribed in golden letters in Prime Minister Modi’s vision of building a developed India by 2047.
The Home Minister told the Chhattisgarh Police personnel that the President’s Colours Award is not just an ornament, but it is a symbol of service and sacrifice . He said that this mark reminds of the countless challenges that have to be faced with perseverance. Shah said that President’s Colours Award , besides being an ornament, is also a responsibility and every jawan of Chhattisgarh Police will fulfil their responsibilities and will not step back even even a single step in discharging their duties , Shah was credulous .
