Raipur: Health services will form part of the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ in Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi (GPM), with a blood donation camp scheduled in Pendra on September 17 and a special mega health camp at the District Hospital on September 20.

The campaign is being organised in connection with the completion of 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s public service. In GPM, the broader month-long campaign is scheduled from September 17 to October 17 and includes a range of public-participation and welfare activities.

Blood Donation Camp in Pendra on September 17

According to the information released by the administration, the blood donation camp will begin at 3 pm at Multipurpose Higher Secondary School, Pendra, with citizens being encouraged to participate voluntarily.

The Chief Medical and Health Officer has been asked to ensure necessary medical arrangements, equipment, materials and staff for the camp. Officials and employees assigned responsibilities have also been directed to ensure its smooth conduct.

The initiative seeks to encourage voluntary blood donation and strengthen public participation in a service that can provide critical support to patients requiring blood.

Specialist Doctors at Mega Health Camp

The second major health initiative will be held at the District Hospital on September 20 from 10 am to 4 pm. The mega health camp will provide residents with free medical examinations and consultations from specialist doctors, including experts from Apollo Hospital Bilaspur.

The camp is being organised under the guidance of Collector Vijay Dayaram K. and the supervision of Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr Rameshwar Sharma.

Specialists in cardiology, kidney-related diseases, general medicine and ophthalmology are expected to provide consultations. Patients will also receive guidance on further investigations and treatment depending on their medical condition.

A key objective is to make specialist healthcare more accessible to people from rural and remote parts of GPM who may otherwise need to travel outside the district for such consultations.

District authorities have appealed to residents to attend the camp with family members, including children and elderly relatives, and make use of the free health screening and specialist consultation facilities.
