G7: G-7 countries with Israel in the fight against Iran; called Tehran the root cause of instability in West Asia

The G-7 countries have openly supported Israel in the fight against Iran. In a statement issued late on Monday June 16, 2025 (IST) , the G-7 countries expressed support for Israel and described its rival Iran as the root cause of instability in West Asia.

The statement called for peace and stability in the region. The air war between Iran and Israel started last Friday June 13, 2025 , when Israel carried out air strikes on Iran. In response, Iran also attacked Israel with drones and missiles. This has increased tension and concern in the area. There was tension here since the beginning of Israel’s military attack on Gaza in October 2023.
