Education Dept. of Pragati College organises World Meditation Day to promote mental peace, balance, and self-awareness.

Pragati College’s Education Department organised World Meditation Day on Monday December 22, 2025 in the seminar hall of its campus , with the objective of promoting mental peace, balance, and self-awareness.

Raipur : The program began with a prayer and offering invocation to Goddess Saraswati following by the address of the college principal where she discussed the importance of meditation in detail. She emphasised that the purpose of this event was to inspire students to practice self-discipline through meditation.

The resource persons for the program were Vikas Rangwani (Art of Living teacher) and his team member, Hari Jaiswal.

The program began with warm-up exercises to activate the mind and body before the meditation session.

They guided all the students through a meditation exercise, helping them connect with themselves. They explained that World Meditation Day is an event declared by the United Nations General Assembly. The resource persons further emphasised the importance of meditation and inner harmony, explaining that simple meditation techniques like Sudarshan Kriya help reduce stress and treat depression.

Present on the occasion were the college principal, Dr. Soumya Nayyar , Head of the Education Department, Dr. K. N. Gajpal, and faculty members Dr. Gunjan Sharma, Upasana Srivastava, Swaleha Nisa, Chinmayi Das, Bhuvneshwar Yadav, Pooja Sahu, and all the students.

The program was compered by Upasana Srivastava, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Pooja Sahu.
