Raipur: Taking a very important decision in the interest of the farmers of the state, the Central Government on Friday July 18, 2025 has increased the target of rice procurement for the Central Pool for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25 from 70 lakh metric tonnes to 78 lakh metric tonnes.

This decision empowers the hard work and confidence of lakhs of farmers of the state.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution Prahlad Joshi on this important decision saying that the double engine government is determined for the prosperity of the farmers of the state.

Chief Minister Sai, while posting on the social media platform ‘X’, said that it is a matter of great joy for the state that the government of the illustrious Prime Minister Narendra Modi , who gives priority to the interests of our farmers , has approved increasing the target of rice procurement in the central pool from 70 lakh metric tonnes to 78 lakh metric tonnes for the Kharif marketing year 2024-25.

Due to the efforts of our government, the central government has approved the procurement of 08 lakh metric tonnes of additional rice.

Chief Minister Sai said that this decision will further strengthen the economic condition of the farmers of Chhattisgarh. It will also provide new energy to the agricultural economy of the state, Sai added.
