Development of Sports in Chhattisgarh is Our Priority – Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai

*Chief Minister inaugurates Junior National Archery Competition

Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Tuesday December 23, 2025 inaugurated the 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Competition at the Swami Vivekananda Athletic Stadium on Kota Road in Raipur, the capital city.

He extended his best wishes for the successful conduct of the 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Competition and encouraged the players to perform exceptionally well.

Chief Minister Sai said that Chhattisgarh is fortunate to have the opportunity to host the National Tribal Games. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Khelo India initiative is providing excellent opportunities for the country’s sporting talents to progress.

A positive atmosphere for sports is being created across the country and the state. He said that the development of sports in Chhattisgarh is among our top priorities. The government is providing all facilities and encouragement to players of all sports to hone their talents.

Chief Minister Sai said that new Khelo India complexes have also been started in Chhattisgarh, providing all necessary facilities to sporting talents. Sports awards ceremonies are organised in the state to provide special encouragement to the players. Our government will give ₹ 21 lakh to athletes participating in the Olympics.

If any young player from our state wins a gold medal in the Olympics, they will be given a reward of ₹ 3 crore, ₹ 2 crore for a silver medal, and ₹ 1 crore for a bronze medal.

It is worth mentioning that the 45th NTPC Junior National Archery Competition is being organised under the aegis of the Chhattisgarh State Archery Association and the Chhattisgarh Department of Sports and Youth Welfare.

This competition will be held from December 22 to 30. Approximately 500 players from 30 states and union territories are participating in the competition.

The program was attended by Vikram Sisodia, General Secretary of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association, Kailash Morarka, former President and National Vice President of the Chhattisgarh State Archery Association, General Secretary Ayush Morarka, Ishwar Prasad Agarwal, along with a large number of players, coaches, managers, dignitaries, and sports enthusiasts from various states.
