‘Aatishi insulted Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh’
During the Delhi Assembly session, BJP MLA from Malviya Nagar Satish Upadhyay said, “Former Chief Minister and Leader of Opposition in Delhi Atishi has insulted Baba Saheb Ambedkar and Shaheed Bhagat Singh. There is a park in the name of Bhagat Singh ji in Malviya Nagar, where one of his statues in the park has been in a damaged condition for the last three years. If Arvind Kejriwal, Atishi and their party respected freedom fighters, they would have got these statues repaired, but they used them only for politics. We will get a new statue installed or reinstall the existing statue in the next one month.”

Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma said, “Nothing has happened (in Delhi) for 10 years. The noise they made or protested against the Lieutenant Governor’s speech has also happened for the first time. The opposition can make as much noise as they want in the House, but when the President or the Lieutenant Governor is giving a speech, noise is not allowed during that time. In a way, this is a big crime. I expect them (the opposition) not to do this in future.”

Delhi minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa said, “This (AAP) government has looted the public with both hands. Liquor scam, school scam, bus scam and now camera scam is also coming to the fore. Delhi government minister Pravesh Verma said, “The cost of the Barapula project has already doubled from the approved amount, because there was no follow-up from the government. The company working on that project has told me that in the last 10 years no minister came for follow-up. Similarly, the cost of many projects has doubled due to lack of follow-up.”

Demand to rename Najafgarh as Nahargarh
Najafgarh MLA Neelam Pehalwan has demanded that Najafgarh be renamed as Nahargarh. Najafgarh is small. The kings there fought for their existence. I hope I will support it. If the master plan is implemented, then Delhi-rural will benefit along with Najafgarh. There will be development there too. There is no maternity centre in my area. The women of the village face difficulties. There are no resources. There is a lot of land in Delhi-rural. A maternity centre should be built there.

Demand to rename Mohammad Pur as Madhavpuram
BJP MLA Anil Sharma said, “In R.K. Puram assembly, we have a village named Mohammad Pur, whose name was proposed to be changed to Madhavpuram by the corporation a long time ago. That proposal was kept pending in the assembly for a long time. Till now there was an AAP government which had buried this issue in the pit. Tomorrow I am going to put a proposal in front of the Speaker to rename (Mohammad Pur) village as Madhavpuram.”
