NDA has announced the name of its Vice Presidential candidate. BJP President JP Nadda announced this and said that CP Radhakrishnan will be NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate. Currently CP Radhakrishnan is the Governor of Maharashtra. JP Nadda said that the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board was called to finalize the name of the Vice Presidential candidate.

NDA has announced the name of its Vice Presidential candidate. Announcing this, BJP President JP Nadda said that CP Radhakrishnan will be the NDA’s Vice Presidential candidate. Currently CP Radhakrishnan is the Governor of Maharashtra. JP Nadda said that the meeting of the BJP Parliamentary Board was called to finalize the name of the Vice Presidential candidate.

Born on 20 October 1957 in Tiruppur, Tamil Nadu, Chandrapuram Ponnuswamy Radhakrishnan (CP Radhakrishnan) has been a senior leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party and is currently the Governor of Maharashtra. Radhakrishnan started his political career with RSS and Jan Sangh. He was elected Lok Sabha MP from Coimbatore in 1998 and 1999. He was the Tamil Nadu BJP President from 2003 to 2006.

Political journey of CP Radhakrishnan

CP Radhakrishnan was the Governor of Jharkhand from February 2023 to July 2024. Apart from this, he also took additional charge of Telangana from March to July 2024 and additional charge of Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry from March to August 2024. He is the Governor of Maharashtra from 31 July 2024.

CP Radhakrishnan’s notable work

During 2004–2007, while being the BJP Tamil Nadu President, he took out a 93-day Rath Yatra, the purpose of which was to link rivers, awareness against terrorism and eradication of untouchability. He was also the chairman of the Standing Committee on Textile Industry in Parliament. He also played an active role in many committees related to finance and enterprises. He has obtained a BBA degree from VO Chidambaram College, Coimbatore.
