Congress: Congress has decided to seek answers from the government on issues like the Pahalgam terror attack, the sudden ceasefire after Operation Sindoor and the ongoing SIR in Bihar in the monsoon session of Parliament. The party will also raise issues like giving full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir, atrocities on women, unemployment, farmers’ problems and US tariffs in the monsoon session.

The top leadership of the Congress decided in a meeting on Tuesday morning that they will discuss several important issues in the upcoming monsoon session (starting on July 21). These include the Pahalgam terror attack, Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of voter list in Bihar, full statehood for Jammu and Kashmir, increasing atrocities on women, unemployment, farmers’ problems, national security and the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad.

The Congress Parliamentary Party meeting was held at 10 Janpath residence under the chairmanship of Sonia Gandhi. Party leaders like Rahul Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Pramod Tiwari, Jairam Ramesh, K Suresh and Manikam Tagore attended it. After the meeting, Pramod Tiwari said that 26 people were killed in the Pahalgam attack and the party will seek answers from the Prime Minister on this matter.

He said that the attack was possible due to lack of security and the absence of a quick response team. The Congress will raise the question that when our army attacked terrorist bases in Pakistan (called ‘Operation Sindoor’), why did the ceasefire between India and Pakistan suddenly break at the same time?

Pramod Tiwari called Bihar SIR a threat to democracy and said that it will definitely be discussed. He said that the issue of giving full statehood to Jammu and Kashmir will also be raised. Issues like increasing violence against women, unemployment, inflation and US tariffs will also be included in the session.

Congress will also talk to other parties and clarify the situation in the session on the impeachment notice against Judge Yashwant Verma in the US. He alleged that non-BJP ruled states are not being treated equally and this issue will also be raised in Parliament. The monsoon session of Parliament will start from 21 July and will continue till 21 August. Congress will call SIR unconstitutional and demand its cancellation and will initiate a debate in Parliament on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor.
