New Delhi: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Friday, October 2, 2026 met BJP national general secretary, Chhattisgarh in-charge and former Union minister Smriti Irani at her residence in New Delhi and discussed development initiatives and public welfare programmes being implemented across the state. The meeting came after Irani’s recent appointment as the party’s Chhattisgarh in-charge.

During the meeting, Sai briefed Irani on development works underway in Chhattisgarh, with particular emphasis on Bastar and the changes taking place across the region.

The Chief Minister said priority was being given to projects and programmes related to education, healthcare, roads, drinking water, irrigation, tourism, employment and livelihoods in Bastar.

The discussion also covered initiatives concerning women’s empowerment, skill development and employment opportunities for young people, farmers’ income and agriculture-linked activities.

Sai also apprised Irani of schemes concerning education, healthcare and livelihoods among tribal communities and outlined the State Government’s stated objective of extending development benefits to people living in remote areas.

The Chief Minister further shared the progress of ongoing development projects and welfare schemes across Chhattisgarh.

The meeting formed part of Sai’s engagements during his New Delhi visit and followed recent organisational changes in the BJP’s state responsibilities.
