CM Sai Commences Japan Visit on a High Note, Exploring Tech and Trade Opportunities

Raipur: Ahead of Chhattisgarh’s participation in the prestigious Osaka World Expo, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai began his Tokyo tour on Friday August 22 , 2025 with a blend of spirituality, technology, and trade diplomacy.
Spiritual Beginning in Tokyo
Immediately upon arrival in Tokyo, CM Sai visited the historic Asakusa Temple — the city’s oldest and most iconic shrine, symbolising peace and strength. At the temple, he offered prayers for the happiness, prosperity, and progress of Chhattisgarh’s 3 crore people, echoing the aspirations of a peaceful and strong state.

Later in the day, the delegation led by CM Sai met Ms. Kayo Ito, CEO of NTT Ltd., one of the world’s top IT infrastructure and digital solutions companies with annual revenues of USD 90 billion and operations spanning more than 50 countries. The discussions focused on technology-driven investments in Chhattisgarh, with emphasis on strengthening the state’s digital ecosystem. Globally recognised for powering enterprises with cutting-edge IT solutions — from cloud computing to cybersecurity — NTT continues to drive digital transformation worldwide.
Strengthening Cultural Ties and Promoting Trade

The day concluded with a formal dinner hosted by Indian Ambassador to Japan, Sibi George. Discussions highlighted the pivotal role of industry in binding Indo-Pacific nations through trade — fostering not only economic stability but also ensuring trade security, ecological balance, and industrial growth.
CM Sai underlined the vast potential for industrial collaboration by leveraging Japan’s advanced technology and India’s skilled workforce. He also stressed on promoting cultural exchanges and positioning Chhattisgarh as a key tourism destination for Japanese visitors.
