Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai made a courtesy call on Union Home Minister Amit Shah to invite him to grace the Bastar Olympics and Police Award program
Raipur / New Delhi : Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai met Union Home Minister Amit Shah at his residence in New Delhi today on Thursday December 4, 2024 . During this, the Chief Minister extended a formal invitation to the Home Minister to grace the closing ceremony of Bastar Olympics and the Police Award program, which the Home Minister gladly accepted. Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Saw and Vijay Sharma were also present in the meeting.
The Chief Minister during the meeting apprised the Union Home Minister about the recent achievements of anti-Naxal operations in the state and the development works being carried out in the Bastar division.
Chief Minister Sai said that the efforts made by the government for road constructions , increasing schools and health facilities and employment have won the confidence of the local people, which has weakened the Maoist influence. The Chief Minister said that due to the joint efforts of the state government and the security forces, there has been a rapid reduction in incidents in Naxal-affected areas in the Bastar region. Due to the efforts of the government, Bastar is now moving rapidly towards becoming Naxal-free. Security forces are continuously running effective operations, and development works have played an important role in keeping the situation under control ,
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh will be completely Naxal-free by 2026. He apprised the Union Home Minister that priority is being given to schemes for rehabilitation of surrendered Naxalites and Naxal-affected families. Under this, instructions have been given to complete the construction of 15,000 houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana as soon as possible , so that the affected families can be provided a safe and dignified life.
The Chief Minister also apprised the Union Home Minister about the importance of Bastar Olympics and its effects in the state. He informed that this event is an impressive step towards peace and development by connecting the youth through sports. So far more than 1.65 lakh youth have participated in this Olympics, Sai said .
The Chief Minister also informed that 11 traditional sports including hockey, football, kabaddi and volleyball have been included in the Bastar Olympics, which are working to connect the youth with unity, positivity and community spirit. He said that this event symbolizes a new wave of development in Naxal-affected areas.
