Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai on Thursday December 25, 2025 inaugurated newly constructed Atal Complexes in 115 urban local bodies of the state on the occasion of the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee.

He unveiled Atalji’s statue and inaugurated the Atal Complex at Phundhar Chowk on the Atal Express-way in the capital Raipur, and virtually connected with programs held across the state to inaugurate Atal Complexes in 114 other urban local bodies.
Chhattisgarh Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh and Technical Education Minister Guru Khushwant Saheb were present at the program.

At the program held at Phundhar sports ground, Chief Minister Sai inaugurated and laid the foundation stone for 23 works sanctioned at a cost of ₹186.98 crore in the Raipur Municipal Corporation area. This includes the foundation stone laying for 17 works worth ₹ 185.49 crore and the inauguration of 6 works worth ₹ 1.49 crore.

On this occasion, he also released a coffee table book on Atal Complexes published by the Urban Administration and Development Department. During the program, building permits were distributed to five beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0 and checks of ₹ 50,000 each were distributed to five women beneficiaries under the PM SVANidhi scheme.

In his address, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai paid tribute to Atalji on his 101st birth anniversary and congratulated the citizens present on Good Governance Day. He said that three crore people of Chhattisgarh are gratefully paying homage to Atalji today.

CM Sai said that Atalji served as the Prime Minister of the country three times. He was a man without enemies, a powerful orator, a sensitive poet, and a great literary figure. Even the opposition parties were eager to listen to his speeches.

He said that through the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (Prime Minister’s Rural Roads Scheme), Atalji laid a network of paved roads to every village and connected rural India with all-weather roads, opening the doors of development to more than six lakh villages.

Through the Kisan Credit Card, farmers were provided with easily accessible agricultural loans, the benefits of which are being reaped by millions of farmers today. By forming the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Atalji gave a new direction to tribal welfare schemes.

Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that today, Atal complexes have been inaugurated in 115 urban local bodies of the state. Earlier, complexes had been inaugurated in 60 locations. Atal complexes are being constructed in all urban local bodies during Atalji’s birth centenary year, so that the memories of Atalji, the creator of Chhattisgarh state, remain eternal.

He said that after the formation of the state, Chhattisgarh’s development has gained new momentum. With Atalji’s foresight and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s strong resolve, Chhattisgarh is rapidly moving towards becoming a developed state. He said that under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban) 2.0, 1023 houses have been sanctioned in Raipur.

MLA Kiran Singh Deo said that Atalji fulfilled his promise and gave Chhattisgarh the form of a separate state. Today, the double-engine government is working with commitment for the development of all sections of society. He said that the country experienced the concept of ‘good governance’ under Atalji’s leadership.

MLA Motilal Sahu said that Atalji recognised the needs of this region, which, despite being rich in natural resources, was economically backward, and paved the way for development by granting it a new state. He said that in the last two years, works worth approximately ₹ 500 crore have been sanctioned in the Raipur Rural assembly constituency.

Mayor Meenal Choubey said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, Raipur city is witnessing all-round development, and development works are reaching even the last person.

In his welcome address, Dr. Basavaraju S., Secretary of the Urban Administration and Development Department, presented details of the construction of the Atal complexes and the projects inaugurated and whose foundation stones were laid today.

The program was attended by Member of Parliament Brijmohan Agrawal, Rajesh Munat, Sunil Soni, Purandar Mishra, Indrakumar Sahu, Anuj Sharma, Chairman of the Civil Supplies Corporation Sanjay Srivastava, Chairman of the Raipur Development Authority Nandkumar Sahu, District Panchayat Chairman Shri Naveen Agrawal, Collector Dr. Gaurav Singh, Municipal Commissioner Vishwadeep, CEO of the State Urban Development Agency (SUDA) Shashank Pandey, along with officers and employees of the Urban Administration and Development Department and Raipur Municipal Corporation, and other public representatives.
