Arrival of Prestigious Trophy in State Inspiring for Young Players: Chief Minister Vishni Deo Sai
Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai and Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh on Tuesday November 18, 2025 unveiled the prestigious FIH Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup 2025 trophy from the Assembly premises. Union Minister of State Tokhan Sahu, State Cabinet Minister Kedar Kashyap, and Deputy Chief Minister Arun Sao were also present at the event.
It is worth mentioning that the glittering trophy of the world-renowned FIH Junior Men’s Hockey World Cup 2025 arrives in Chhattisgarh for the first time today as part of its India tour and was unveiled at a solemn ceremony held at the Assembly premises.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said on this occasion that hosting the FIH Junior World Cup 2025 in India is a matter of great pride and that the trophy’s arrival in Chhattisgarh is a special occasion of honor for the state. Expressing gratitude to Hockey India, he said that the Trophy Tour is an important effort to promote enthusiasm and inspiration for sports across the country.
He said that the launch of this campaign by Union Sports Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya is a step that will reinvigorate the spirit of sports in the country.
The Chief Minister said that Chhattisgarh has always been a fertile ground for hockey. A large number of children from districts like Rajnandgaon, Bastar, Jashpur, Surguja, Raipur, Bilaspur, and Korba are pursuing their future in hockey.

The arrival of the trophy will be an inspiration for the state’s young players. He said that the state government is committed to expanding sports infrastructure, strengthening training facilities, and encouraging emerging talent. Chief Minister Sai said that this trophy symbolises the hard work, discipline, and dreams of the world’s best players. The Chief Minister also congratulated and wished Hockey India, the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association, and Chhattisgarh Hockey on this occasion.
On the occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh congratulated the officials and players of the Chhattisgarh Olympic Association and Chhattisgarh Hockey for the grand unveiling of the trophy. Chhattisgarh Olympic Association General Secretary Vikram Sisodia, other officials of the association, representatives of the hockey organisation, and a large number of players were present on this occasion.
India will host the Junior World Cup for the first time
It is quite significant that India is hosting the FIH Hockey Junior Men’s World Cup 2025 for the first time. The competition will run from November 28 to December 10 , 2025 and will be held in Chennai and Madurai, Tamil Nadu.
