The Naxal leader who was being searched by security agencies across the country has been killed by DRG forces. In such a situation, this action of the security forces is being seen as a big success.
Let us tell you that earlier, central and state security forces killed at least 31 Naxalites in a 21-day extensive operation in the dense forests around the Karregutta hills on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. CRPF Director General GP Singh and Chhattisgarh Director General of Police (DGP) Arun Dev Gautam said that during the 21-day operation that started on April 21, the forces have recovered the bodies of 31 Maoists, out of which 28 have been identified.
Additional Director General of Chhattisgarh Police (Anti-Naxal Operations) Vivekananda said that the Naxalites identified so far had a reward of Rs 1.72 crore.
The security forces have also seized a large cache of weapons and destroyed four technical units of the Naxalites, which used to make weapons and IEDs. Officials said that after analysing the facts and information during the operation, it can be safely assumed that several senior Maoist leaders have either been killed or seriously injured during the encounters.
Whatever we had aimed to do, we have achieved much more than that. We are confident and happy that this is the beginning of the end and we will achieve the goal of completely eliminating Naxal violence from the country by March 31, 2026. Officials said that due to the extremely difficult terrain, the security forces have not been able to recover all the bodies or arrest the injured. They said the forces have recovered 35 weapons and a large quantity of ammunition, including automatic, semi-automatic and country-made weapons.
450 IEDs and a large number of detonators, explosive devices, 12,000 kg of other material, including medical supplies, electrical equipment, Naxal literature, etc. have been seized during the operation. The security forces have destroyed four arms-making factories of the Naxalites, from where generators, drills, motors and cutters have been recovered.
