The Chief Minister called upon people to take a pledge to conserve and enhance water resources

Raipur: Chief Minister called upon to take a pledge to conserve and enhance water sources Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai attended the Chhath Mahaparv program organised at Mahadev Ghat in the capital Raipur this evening. On this occasion, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai wished everyone a happy Chhath festival and said that Surya Aaradhana Chhath Puja is a festival to connect humans with nature. Chief Minister Shri Sai also participated in the Mangal Aarti of Chhathi Maiya on the banks of Kharun river. The program was organised by Chhath Festival Organising Committee Mahadev Ghat.

While addressing the program, Chief Minister Vishnu deo Sai said that I feel very fortunate to be a part of this program of Chhath Mahaparva. I congratulate the organising committee for this grand event. Devotees wait for Chhath Mahaparva throughout the year. On this Mahaparva, people from far and wide, no matter where they are living and working, they reach to participate in Chhath Puja. The government also makes special arrangements for transport like trains etc. on Chhath.

Chief Minister Sai said that a tough fast is observed in this festival of worship of Sun God. Our mothers and sisters observe Nirjala fast. ( Fast without having even water ) Chhath Mahaparva also connects us with nature. Chhath Puja is performed on the ghats near water sources like river, pond etc., in this way we come closer to nature in this festival. On Chhath festival, we should also take a pledge to protect and promote our water resources like rivers and ponds.

The Chief Minister said that today I would also like to pay tribute to the late singer Sharda Sinha. Our entire generation has heard her Chhath songs. I pray to Chhathi Maiya and Sun God for the happiness, prosperity and well-being of all the people of Chhattisgarh.

Addressing the program, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh said that the Pancha Mahabhutas from which our body is formed are worshipped in this festival. Chhath Mahaparva is such a festival in which arghya is offered to the setting sun along with the rising sun. May the blessings of Chhathi Mai remain on everyone.

MP Brijmohan Agarwal said that for the last 10-15 years, Chhath Puja is being organised continuously by Mahadev Ghat Committee. Worshiping the setting sun in Chhath teaches us how to live life. The message of this festival is that we should never be troubled by the ups and downs in life. I wish everyone a very happy Chhath.

On this occasion, Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, MP Brijmohan Agarwal, MLA Purandar Mishra, Sampat Agarwal, Anuj Sharma, former MP Sunil Soni, Swami Rajivlochan Ji Maharaj, Rampratap Singh, Sanjay Srivastava, Pankaj Sharma, members of Chhath Samiti Mahadev Ghat and a large number of worshippers were present.
