Earlier, the Bombay High Court had ordered the Bandra Magistrate Court to decide on the mutual divorce proceedings initiated by Chahal and his estranged wife Dhanashree by Thursday.

34-year-old Yuzvendra Chahal is preparing to enter the IPL 2025 season. He will play for Punjab Kings (PBKS) this time. The tournament will start on March 22. While the Punjab team will play its first match against Gujarat Titans on March 25.

Justice Madhav Jamdar’s bench said that Chahal’s lawyer has been spoken to. He has told that Chahal will not be available in the court after March 21, as he will be busy with the IPL. The petition was filed only last month
Both Chahal and Dhanashree had filed a petition in the Family Court on February 5 for divorce by mutual consent. However, the Family Court refused to waive the 6-month cooling off period.
After this, both Chahal and Dhanashree challenged this decision of the Family Court in the High Court. Let us tell you that a 6-month cooling off period is necessary under Section 13B under the Hindu Marriage Act for divorce. This time is given so that both the husband and wife can reach a consensus and decide to live together without getting a divorce. The matter is resolved between them again.
Chahal agrees to give 4.75 crores to Dhanashree
While Justice Jamdar considered that Chahal and Verma have been living separately for two and a half years and the terms of the agreement have been complied with during the mediation between the two parties regarding the payment of alimony. After this consideration, the bench waived the cooling period. According to the family court, Chahal had promised to give Rs 4.75 crore to Dhanashree. Out of this, he has given Rs 2.37 crore till now
