CG NEWS: Contract and daily wage employees will be regularised within four months, Chhattisgarh High Court issues order

Bilaspur.: A single bench of Bilaspur High Court on Wednesday March 19, 2025 has said in an important order that the petitioners have been working for more than a decade. Hence, they have sufficient experience. They should be regularised on the same post on which they are working. While hearing the petition filed demanding regularization, Justice AK Prasad has issued an order to regularize the petitioners within four months.

Petitioners Neelima Yadav, Rashmi Nagpal and 40 other employees had filed a petition before the Bilaspur High Court through their advocate Deepali Pandey demanding regularisation. The petitioners said in their petition that they are all working as contract and daily wage employees in NIT Raipur. A proper advertisement was issued before the appointment. After passing the written examination, the institute called for the interview. After the interview, the appointment was given on the basis of merit. According to the petition, the employees working on the post have sufficient experience along with educational qualification. According to the petition, all the employees are working against regular posts. It has been more than 10 years since they have been working. Therefore, they also have sufficient experience.

The case was heard in the single bench of Justice AK Prasad. Advocate Deepali Pandey, while pleading on behalf of the petitioners, presented the judgments passed by the Supreme Court in the cases of State of Karnataka vs Uma Devi, State of Karnataka vs ML Kesari, Vinod Kumar and others vs Union of India, State of Orissa vs Manoj Kumar Pradhan, Shripal and others vs Ghaziabad Municipal Corporation, etc. Advocate for NIT said that there are no rules for regularisation.
