Speaking at the Shangri-La Dialogue in Singapore, India’s Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan refuted Pakistan’s claim that it had shot down six Indian fighter jets in the recent conflict. During this, the CDS said – We are capable of understanding and correcting our mistakes and we gave an accurate and effective response in Operation Sindoor.

ndia’s Chief of Defense Staff General Anil Chauhan on Saturday admitted the loss of fighter planes in the recent conflict with Pakistan. But Pakistan’s claim of shooting down six Indian planes has been termed ‘absolutely wrong’.

What did CDS Chauhan say on future strategy

At the same time, in an interview to Bloomberg TV, he said that it is more important that we understand why our planes fell, so that the future strategy can be improved. General Chauhan said, ‘For me it is more important why the planes fell, not that they fell.’ He admitted that some planes did fall during Operation Sindoor, but India learned from it and within two days, corrected and implemented its strategy again.

‘We recognized our mistakes and corrected’

He said, ‘We recognized our strategic mistakes, corrected them and started the air operation again after two days. This time we hit targets from a long distance’. When General Chauhan was asked whether Pakistan shot down six fighter planes of India, he said in clear words, ‘This claim is absolutely wrong.’

Air Marshal also admitted the loss

Earlier, Indian Air Force Director General of Air Operations Air Marshal AK Bharti also said in a press conference on May 11 that ‘losses in battle are normal, but all our pilots returned home safely.’ He also clarified that during Operation Sindoor, the Air Force worked with full force and gave a befitting reply to the enemy.

What is Operation Sindoor?

India carried out precision attacks on terrorist hideouts under Operation Sindoor on May 7. This action was taken in response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on April 22. After this, Pakistan tried to attack Indian military bases on May 8, 9 and 10, to which the Indian Army gave a befitting reply. This retaliation caused damage to several Pakistani military installations, including air bases, radar sites, and command centers.
