Raipur: On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the two-day Tribal Pride Day and Inter-State Tribal Folk Dance Festival at Science College Ground, Raipur on Thursday , November 14 , 2024 by offering prayers at Devgudi and lighting lamps. Under this state-level program, seminars on various topics, tribal painting exhibition as well as beautiful cultural programs by 28 tribal dance troupes from 21 states of the country will be presented for two days.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai congratulated and wished the people on the occasion of Tribal Pride Day. On this occasion, the Chief Minister, while paying homage to Lord Birsa Munda, Shaheed Veer Narayan Singh, Shaheed Gend Singh, Gundadhur, said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has increased the pride of the tribal community by announcing to celebrate the birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda as Tribal Pride Day. For this, he expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi on behalf of 3 crore people of Chhattisgarh.
Chief Minister Shri Sai said that the grand start of Tribal Pride Day in Chhattisgarh has been made from Jashpur on November 13 , 2024 . He said that no one has cared as much for the tribal community as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former Prime Minister Bharat Ratna Late Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee have. Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee created a separate ministry for the welfare of 10 crore tribal population of the country.
The Chief Minister further said that under the PM Janman Yojana, basic facilities are being developed in the villages of the special backward tribal community. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the Tribal Pride Day tomorrow on November 15 from Jamui, Bihar. He said that the Central Government has started the Dharti Aaba Janjati Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan for the overall development of tribal villages. There is a provision of 80 thousand crore rupees for that . This will lead to the development of basic facilities and welfare of the tribal community in 6,691 tribal villages of Chhattisgarh state.
At the beginning of the program, during the attractive march past of tribal dance troupes from all 21 states, people cheered the artists.
Tribal Welfare Minister Ramvichar Netam gave the welcome address and said that this event is an opportunity to pay tribute to the great men who sacrificed their lives for the protection of art, culture, tradition and the country. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, work is being done rapidly for the betterment of all sections of the society.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, Forest Minister Kedar Kashyap, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, Sports Minister Tank Ram Verma, Rajya Sabha MP Devendra Pratap Singh, former Minister Ramshila Sahu, MLAs Purandar Mishra, Guru Khushwant Singh Saheb, Moti Lal Sahu, Indra Kumar Sahu, Anuj Sharma and other public representatives, Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain, Principal Secretary Tribal Welfare Department Sonamoni Bora, Secretary to Chief Minister P. Dayanand and other officials and a large number of people were present.
