Gariband : In an operation in Chhattisgarh’s Gariaband, security forces have killed 10 naxalites including Manoj alias Modem Balkrishna, who was carrying a bounty of Rs 1 crore. Modem’s death is being considered a major success for the security forces. According to sources, the operation was launched on Wednesday September 10, 2025 after intelligence inputs confirmed the presence of top Naxalite leader Balkrishna in the area.

Giving information about this operation, the security forces said that the operation was started on Wednesday based on intelligence input, in which 10 Naxalites including Modem Balkrishna, on whom a reward of Rs 1 crore was announced, were killed. The encounter took place in a remote area of ​​​​Gariaband, where security forces surrounded a group of Naxalites.

According to the information received, teams of state police, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and Cobra Battalion were involved in this operation. Among the Naxalites killed in the encounter, Manoj alias Modem Balkrishna was a senior member of Odisha State Committee (OSC), on whom a reward of Rs 1 crore was announced.
