Raipur: On the third Mondayon July 28 , 2025 of the month of Shravan the echo of devotion and faith reached its peak at Baba Bhoramdev Temple, a pilgrimage site of ancient, religious, historical and archaeological importance in Chhattisgarh, when Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai gave a grand welcome and felicitation to thousands of Kanwariyas and Shiva devotees by showering flowers from a helicopter. Assembly Speaker Dr. Raman Singh, Deputy Chief Ministers Vijay Sharma and Arun Saw were present on this auspicious occasion.

This is the second consecutive year when the Chief Minister himself is showering flowers to welcome the devotees. After the showering of flowers, Chief Minister Sai reached Baba Bhoramdev Temple and chanted mantras, performed special puja and Rudrabhishek with various auspicious substances like milk, yogurt, honey, and water, while chanting Vedic mantras dedicated to Lord Shiva and prayed for the prosperity and peace of the State Chhattisgarh .

Chief Minister Sai met the Kanwariyas and devotees present in the temple premises, enquired about their well-being and greeted them with great affection. The Chief Minister said that today on the third Monday of the month of Sawan, it is a matter of great fortune and pride for me to join the devotees of Lord Shiva on the holy land of Baba Bhoramdev.

Thousands of devotees have reached Bhoramdev Dham after walking hundreds of kilometers to witnessing the power of Lord Shiva and experiencing his presence through devotion, chanting his mantras – The entire atmosphere has became an example faith, tradition and cultural heritage.

On this occasion, the Chief Minister honored Pandaria MLA Bhavana Bohra, who made a 151-kilometer pilgrimage on foot from Amarkantak and performed Jalabhishek ( Anointing Lord Shiva with water ) at the Bhoramdev temple, by presenting saffron clothes and coconut.

Chief Minister Sai said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, an ambitious project of Rs 146 crore has been approved for the development of Bhoramdev corridor under Swadesh Darshan Yojana 2.0. This project will not only transform the temple complex, but will also be developed as a comprehensive religious-tourism corridor from Madwa Mahal, Cherki Mahal, Ramchuwa to Sarodha reservoir.

He informed that for the convenience of devotees going to Amarkantak from Chhattisgarh, the process of allotment of 5 acres of land is going on in Anuppur, Madhya Pradesh, where the construction of a grand devotee building is proposed.

Extending his heartfelt greetings of the month of Sawan to all the devotees, the Chief Minister said that the flower shower offered from the helicopter today has made the significance of this auspicious occasion even more unprecedented, CM Sai added,

Pride of mythological tradition: Baba Bhoramdev complex drenched in devotion

The tradition of Jalabhishek of Lord Shiva—the God of Gods—in the month of Sawan has beenbeing performed for centuries. This 11th century Bhoramdev temple located in village Chaura, 18 km from Kawardha, is a very important place from historical, religious and archaeological point of view.

In the month of Shravan, thousands of devotees from Kabirdham, Mungeli, Bemetara, Khairagarh, Rajnandgaon of Chhattisgarh and Amarkantak of Madhya Pradesh come on foot to perform Jalabhishek at Baba Bhoramdev, Budha Mahadev and the ancient Jaleshwar Shivaling of Dongaria. The devotees collect water from Mother Narmada and after travelling more than 150 kilometres barefoot and in saffron clothes, reach Bhoramdev, Jaleshwar Mahadev and Panchmukhi Budha Mahadev temples with the chanting of “Bol Bam” and bhajans dedicated to Lord Shiva .
