Raipur: The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana Gramin (PMAY-G) is a housing scheme launched by the central government, aiming to provide permanent houses to homeless citizens in rural areas. Under this scheme, families living in temporary houses or those without shelter are provided financial assistance to build permanent houses with all necessary amenities.

Another achievement has been added to the list of accomplishments of Balodabazar-Bhatapara district. The district has achieved a major milestone under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin). Balodabazar-Bhatapara district ranks first in the entire Chhattisgarh state in achieving the targets for the year 2025-26.

Under the guidance of the Balodabazar-Bhatapara District Collector and the leadership of the CEO, District Panchayat, the district has not only expedited the approval of houses but has also set a record in starting construction work on the ground.

In the year 2025-26, a total of 26,843 houses were sanctioned, of which the first installment has been released for 24,313 houses, construction has started on 20,480 houses, and 15,120 houses have been completed up to the plinth level.

Highest Plinth Construction:
In Balodabazar-Bhatapara district, the construction of 15,120 houses has been completed up to the plinth level, which is the highest among all districts in the state. FTOs (Fund Transfer Orders) have been processed for 26,439 houses, and the first installment has been successfully transferred to the accounts of 24,313 beneficiaries.

The fact that work has started on 20,480 houses out of the total sanctioned houses and 139 houses have been completed demonstrates the efficiency of the administration and the enthusiasm of the villagers. Under the PM Janman Yojana, the district has also prioritized the work and sanctioned houses for 25 eligible beneficiaries, completing 100% of the houses for all of them. Rainwater Harvesting Structure Construction

The district has received the second prize nationally for water conservation, with a significant contribution from beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural) housing scheme. Under this scheme, 15,260 rainwater harvesting structures have been constructed in completed houses.

This achievement is turning the dream of owning a permanent home into a reality for thousands of families in the district. It is not only accelerating rural development but also creating employment opportunities at the local level.
