Raipu: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, during his visit to Korba district on Thursday June 12 , 2025 unveiled the statue of Lokmata Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar at the Convention Center and announced to name the Convention Center after the Maharani. On this occasion, he gave the gift of 66 different development works worth more than Rs 223 crore 88 lakh to the people of the district.
Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai said that Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar of Indore was a people-loving and just ruler. She did remarkable work in the field of women’s education, along with promoting women empowerment, she beautified the important pilgrimage sites and religious places of the country and gave them a new identity.
On the occasion, the Chief Minister announced to make the convention center air-conditioned. He said that he had come to Korba six months ago also, during this time also gifts of various development works worth more than Rs 600 crore were given. Today, the people of Korba district will benefit from the gift of development works worth two hundred and twenty-five crore.

Chief Minister Sai talked about taking necessary initiatives for the establishment of Aluminium Park. He also planted a vermilion plant in the convention center premises under the name of ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’. He also visited the photo exhibition based on the biography of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. The program was also addressed by Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw and Industry Minister Lakhanlal Devangan.
Inauguration and foundation stone laying
The works inaugurated by Chief Minister Sai mainly include Ekal Gram Nal-Jal Yojana in 11 villages under Jal Jeevan Mission, new primary health center building in 3 villages, Swami Atmanand Hindi Medium School new building/renovation work, and 2.4 kW capacity solar power plant installation work in 47 hostels-ashrams. Similarly, the major works of Bhoomi Pujan include 100 TPD solid waste management project for Municipal Corporation Korba, city bus depot-terminal complex under Pradhan Mantri e-bus service, SNCU hall in 100 bed hospital, training hall and other construction works, water conservation work in Ayodhyapuri pond and various works of District Mineral Institute Trust Fund and 15th Finance Commission.

Besides Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai inaugurated the newly constructed Keshav Bhawan for small children in the state’s largest Saraswati Shishu Mandir complex located in Korba, the energy capital of the state. On the occasion, he said that this building will become a confluence of education, culture and sanskars.
Chief Minister Sai said that Keshav Bhawan will prove to be a powerful medium for the all-round development of children. Saraswati Shishu Mandir institution is making a significant contribution in the world of education. Here students are provided not only academic knowledge but also excellent virtues, morality, good behavior, decorum . He said that Saraswati Shishu Mandir is not just a school, but a strong foundation stone of nation building, from where true patriots are created.
It is worth mentioning that this building dedicated to patriotism and moral education has been equipped with modern facilities and prepared for the overall development of students.
Deputy Chief Minister Arun Saw, Industry Minister Lakhan Lal Dewangan, MLA Premchand Patel, Chairman of Chhattisgarh Housing Board Anurag Singhdev, Mayor Korba S Sanju Devi Rajput along with many public representatives, members of the management committee of Saraswati Shishu Mandir and teachers were present on the occasion .
