We get to see and hear new things in his program. CM Sai said that now the summer days are about to come. At this time, water conservation is our priority.
‘Mann Ki Baat’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday interacted with the countrymen in the 120th episode of his popular monthly broadcast ‘Mann Ki Baat’. During this program, he discussed topics like inspirational stories, water conservation, increasing participation in sports, yoga and sustainable development. At the beginning of the program, Modi said that today is the Pratipada date of Shukla Paksha of Chaitra month, due to which Chaitra Navratri is starting. With this, Vikram Samvat 2082 is also starting. He wished all the countrymen a Happy Navratri and New Year.
Prime Minister Modi suggested children and youth to hone their skills during summer vacations and said that they should spend summer vacations by learning new skills, engaging in service work and volunteer activities. If any organization, school or social institution is organizing summer activities, then it should be shared under ‘My Holiday’. Prime Minister Modi stressed on the need for water conservation and said that by conserving raindrops, we can save a lot of water. In the last 7-8 years, significant work has been done in the direction of water conservation across the country, which has conserved 11 billion cubic meters of water. He gave an example of Gadag district of Karnataka, where villagers have revived dried lakes. Referring to Khelo India Para Games, he said that this year more players participated in it than last year. 18 national records were made in this event, out of which 12 were made by women players. 25,000 people participated in the ‘Fit India Carnival’ organized in Delhi, which increased awareness towards fitness.
In his monthly broadcast, PM Modi praised the famous rapper Hanumankind and said that the way India’s traditional martial arts like Kalaripayattu, Gatka and Thang Ta have been included in his song is commendable. Discussing the influence of Indian culture in Mauritius and Guyana, Modi mentioned his recent visit to Mauritius and said that Geet Gawai was presented there, which is an integral part of Indian tradition. The Indian laborers who went to Mauritius 200 years ago settled there completely and maintained their cultural identity. Similarly, the presentation of Chautal in Guyana impressed him. Discussing the challenge and solution of textile waste in India, the Prime Minister said that India is the third largest textile waste producing country in the world. But now a solution to this problem is being found with the efforts of startups and environment lovers. PM Modi praised Panipat in Haryana, where new products are being made by recycling old shoes and clothes. This is promoting sustainable fashion.
