Raipur: Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has intervened to resolve a scheduling clash between the teacher recruitment examination and the main examination for Subedar, Sub-Inspector Cadre and Platoon Commander posts, saying the interests and career opportunities of Chhattisgarh’s youth must remain a priority.

Following the Chief Minister’s directions on Monday, August 10, 2026, the Chhattisgarh Public Service Commission (CGPSC) revised the dates of the Subedar/Sub-Inspector Cadre/Platoon Commander (Main) Examination-2024.

The examination, earlier proposed for October 24, 25 and 26, will now be conducted on November 2, 3 and 4, 2026.

The change is expected to provide relief to candidates preparing for both recruitment processes, who otherwise faced the possibility of having to choose between two career opportunities.

October 25 Clash Put Candidates in a Difficult Position

CGPSC had declared the result of the preliminary written examination for Subedar, Sub-Inspector Cadre and Platoon Commander recruitment under the Home (Police) Department on August 4, 2026.

The Commission had subsequently proposed October 24, 25 and 26 for conducting the main examination.

However, the teacher recruitment examination was also scheduled for October 25, creating a direct clash for candidates eligible or preparing to appear in both examinations.

For such aspirants, the overlapping schedules raised the possibility of missing one of the examinations despite having prepared for both.

When the practical difficulty faced by candidates was brought to Chief Minister Sai’s attention, he directed officials to find an immediate solution keeping the interests of young aspirants in mind.

The Commission subsequently changed the police recruitment main examination schedule.

‘No Eligible Youth Should Lose an Opportunity’

Emphasising his government’s approach towards recruitment and employment opportunities, Sai said the interests of young people were paramount.

“The interests of youth are paramount for our government. Our priority is to ensure that the young people of the state get every opportunity to move forward and that no eligible candidate is deprived of an opportunity merely because examination dates clash,” Chief Minister Sai said.

The Chief Minister also acknowledged the years of preparation and sustained effort that often go into competitive examinations.

“Young people work hard for years preparing for competitive examinations. They should not be compelled to choose between two opportunities because of an administrative issue or a practical problem connected with the examination schedule,” Sai said.

He said the state government remained sensitive to the aspirations of young people and was committed to taking prompt decisions on matters affecting their future.

Revised Police Main Examination Schedule

With the change, candidates will no longer have to contend with the October 25 overlap.

The revised schedule for the Subedar/Sub-Inspector Cadre/Platoon Commander (Main) Examination-2024 is:

November 2, 2026 — Main Examination
November 3, 2026 — Main Examination
November 4, 2026 — Main Examination

The rescheduling effectively separates the police recruitment examination from the teacher recruitment test scheduled for October 25.

CGPSC Issues Advice to Candidates

CGPSC has advised candidates shortlisted for the main examination to submit a separate online application for appearing in the next stage of the recruitment process.

Detailed information regarding the application procedure and related requirements will be issued separately by the Commission.

Candidates have also been advised to regularly check the Commission’s website for official updates concerning the examination.
