State level mass yoga practice program to be held Ambikapur on 12th International Yoga Day

Raipur: On the occasion of the 12th International Yoga Day on Sunday June 21, 2026 , a state level mass yoga practice program will be organised at the PG College Ground in Ambikapur on June 21. Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai will participate as the chief guest in this program to be held from 6 am.
The program will be presided over by Health and Family Welfare Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal.

Chhattisgarh Yoga Commission Chairman Sanjay Aggarwal will be present in the program as a special guest. Along with this, there will be participation of public representatives, officials of various commissions and boards, officers, employees, students, youth, women and representatives of various social and voluntary organisations.
This year the theme of International Yoga Day has been set as “Yoga for Healthy Aging”. The program will be organised as per the guidelines and common yoga protocol issued by the Ministry of AYUSH, Government of India. In the state level program, a large number of participants will practice yoga collectively and the message of adopting a healthy lifestyle will be given through yoga.
Describing International Yoga Day as an important campaign for public health and public awareness, Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai has said that Yoga is an invaluable heritage of India’s ancient knowledge tradition, which is today showing the whole world the path to a healthy and balanced life. He said that regular yoga practice not only strengthens physical health but also plays an important role in establishing mental, emotional and spiritual balance, CM Sai added.
Continuous efforts are being made by the state government with the aim of taking yoga to every person and building a healthy Chhattisgarh. In this series, on the occasion of International Yoga Day, group yoga exercises and awareness programs will be organised in various institutions, educational complexes, government offices and public places across the state.
During the program, participants will be made to practice various yoga asanas, pranayama and meditation as per the common yoga protocol.
Besides, information will also be given regarding the physical, mental and emotional benefits of yoga. Guidance will be provided by yoga experts on the role of yoga in a healthy lifestyle.
